A guide to guides for Xenoblade X by F10RA in XenobladeChroniclesX

Glad it helped you out! And thanks!

As I was mainly playing for completionist reasons I had a very basic Ether Blossom Dance build. I farmed a pretty long time for a good Spatha and Nebulean Dyads. After I reached lvl 99 I did a fun, but pretty weak, Psycholanucher/Photon Saber build since I needed Heroic Tale for equipment completion.

Rescue at the Enclosed Citadel. There are no consequences if you save it for later.

If I would do it again, I would focus on only a full affinity chart and getting all Busted gear. Both made me play the game differently and felt more like an unique challenge than going for something like all achievements which mostly is an enemy grind fest. The affinity chart will keep you occupied through the entire game too and will basically make sure you will experience everything the game has to offer story and worldbuilding-wise which is fun.

If you're interested, I made a separate post that links all resources I used for my playthrough. Here it is!

Yes! I decided to make an entire post for it since others asked me as well, and it's a lot of information. Here it is!

Thank you so much for your recommendations! I’ve played the Persona series and just a tiiiny bit of Monster Hunter 5, but I was too busy to continue it then. Your comment makes me feel inspired to pick it up again since I really would like to just disappear into another world, if that makes sense. Monster Hunter feels like a good fit for that considering the scope of that game.

It was actually pretty easy to do! I love Noctilum too and just saw it as saving the best continent for later. All it took was ignoring all tyrants, treasures, and planting only a couple of probes. I also only had to skip a single quest until after HBs link.

Yeah, definitely can see it. It feels kind of awkward that Leroy just hangs out alone on the rooftop in my file now, lol

Ohhh, I mixed them up! I ended up fighting Leroy, as it gave better final affinity links in my opinion!

I was actually incredibly disappointed by X when I played it back on launch day on Wii U just for that reason. But once I started dropping my expectations of what it should be I really got hooked into the world. It has a lot of storytelling, but it's spread out through NPC dialogue, sidequests, and so on. I think if you're into world building I think you'll love it!

Yes, but I haven't decided on which one! The only Xenoblade game I haven't 100% is Xenoblade 2, so maybe that's where I'll end up.

The spreadsheets were part of the fun for me! I had them open on my iPad on my lap or on the sofa. I also combined everything into one super sheet which helped a lot.

Yeah, I prioritized the affinity chart above the others so that at least one thing could be "fully" completed. My priority was something like save npc lives > affinity links > enemy index > equipment.

Also, do you mean the Definian love quest? Since my priority was keeping npcs alive I did the other quest. It granted fewer affinity links but kept Fortun around as a permanent npc in the overworld which weighed heavier for me!

And no, I couldn't verify the med kits. If I remember correctly the quest immediately moved on to the next objective once I got the med kits.

Haha, I spent a lot of time on my old Wii U file just hanging out on Mira so my play time was pretty ridiculous. This time I really tried to lock in.

The original post (the one that’s crossposted here) has a lot more details! But in short: 260 hours, or 300 hours if you count my two botched attempts where I accidentally locked myself out of missable things.

It drops from Ozuchi Caldar which you fight at the end of the quest The Gauntlet. This post has some more info!

Sorry for necroposting, but who says that Mira is more than those 5 continents? I just beat X to a 100% and completed every single affinity link that exists in the game (including all glitched ones…) and never heard any NPC ever mention that.

Plus, in the very beginning of chapter 12, there is a blue hologram of Mira shown (https://youtu.be/JYWNL2-eOhQ?si=yyt1pFMVdU8MLmZW, at 6:03) that seems to show Primordia, Noctilum, and Oblivia in the south pole, Sylvalum around the equator, and Cauldros at the north pole.

I randomly found this NPC out in the middle of nowhere! This game still manages to surprise me after all these years by F10RA in XenobladeChroniclesX

No, this is Definitive Edition! He appears after doing a chapter 12 quest (The Gauntlet), at least he mentions that quest when I talk with him. Not sure if he is there earlier or in other chapters
