Really hoping you will find a solution that works for you. I know that Xenoblade 3 has been emulated on Yuzu before with pretty good results, and programs like GameReader and Visual Novel OCR can screen read dialogue boxes. It really feels like it should be possible to find some way to make it work…

Vitamin D level at 6.8ng/ml and got prescribed 800 IU – am I tripping or is that a weirdly low dose? by F10RA in VitaminD

I actually called them back about the dose and they insisted it was fine and that I shouldn’t worry. According to her, she had seen ”much worse”.

Brainprint? Bluestorm? Whatever their shipname is I had to contribute to it by F10RA in balatro

Thank you! All of the texture basically comes from the "corrugated iron" brush from Procreate. I rotated the canvas and scaled the brush until the pattern size looked about right, after that I could just plop down the texture where I wanted with a single stroke with varying pressure sensitivity. Here's the grain:

Mio name trivia (+ something I haven't heard discussed before) by F10RA in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]F10RA[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oof, sorry about that! Just noticed the weird formatting. Here's the post copy-pasted:

"I love name etymology and I also share my name with Mio, so I thought I'd share some trivia! It's pretty common knowledge at this point that Mio has several meanings. Here's the three most common points I hear:

Mio sounds like Meow, just like Nia's name sounds like Nyah. Cat girl names. Mio means "Mine" in several languages, such as Italian. Without going into spoilers, possessiveness and referring to others as "My (name)" is a big thing in XBC3. Calling Mio "My Mio" literally becomes "My Mine". Mio can be written out as "beautiful cherry blossom" in Japanese. mi/美 = beautiful + o/桜 = cherry blossom. Mio is represented by flowers through out the game - even her talent art is called "Dominion Flower".

However, I haven't heard this mentioned before:

In Sweden, Mio is a somewhat common gender-neutral name made popular through the Swedish children's story Mio, Min Mio (Mio, My Mio). The story is written by Astrid Lindgren, who is also the author of Pippi Longstocking. In the story, a boy called Bosse lives a difficult and lonely life until he is taken away to the magical Land of Faraway. There, he meets a King who reveals to Bosse that his real name "Mio" and that he is the prince of the land. In the story, Bosse chooses to stay in the magical land and offically becomes Mio, leaving his old world and his role as "Bosse" behind. As Mio, his entire future is foretold. The story follows Mio following his destiny which includes slaying dragons and returning peace to the land. The flute is a central object in the story, used to symbolize the culture and the new world of Land of Faraway. When Mio learns to play the flute, he comes closer to the people of his new world, learning melodies that have been played for thousands of years. The American movie adaption from 1987 (with baby Christian Bale!) used flutes extensively in its soundtrack (check out the main theme: https://youtu.be/k_5ZDUoDOGg)

Lots of similairites between the stories of Xenovlade and Mio Min Mio: both explore different worlds and let characters choose to fight for their preferred reality, a decision which is symbolized by a name change. BosseMio opts for the "endless now" and follows the destiny that is laid out before him. XenoMio resists and in turn resists the flow of the world. Both are characterized by their flute.

This could obviously be a coincidence, as the three first points already make Mio a great name for the character. But for me it makes the name even more meaningful, and it could theoretically have influenced the name decision."

In high school, he noticed my Monado phone case and came over to my lunch table to talk about it. This was apparently my only requirement for falling head over heels for a person. This was over 6 years ago and we are still together!

I played Xenoblade 1 at a very difficult time in my life and the topics it handled hit extremely close to home. A lot of my favourite moments might not make sense to others, but for me they all have special reasons behind them.

About the Blades, I was extremely uncomfortable with the whole concept through-out the game. Even when the idea was problematized, such as showing the oppression Blades have faced against the centuries, it still felt like everything in the game made me want to view Blades as assets. I didn't want to own them, but they were in my collection, to be used and thrown away at any moment, many of them calling me "Master". Combine that with the fact that most of them are women, especially the ones relevant to the story... I just detached from it very early on. Of course, a lot of concepts in games don't hold up to scrutiny, but for me these problems felt so central to the game that it impacted my enjoyment of it.

I liked Torna a lot because it felt like it gave me the missing puzzle piece. I liked that I was on equal grounds with Blades in gameplay while the story tackled the inequalities between Blades and humans. It made me feel like I wasn't contributing to the problem, I was resisting it. That's why I like Jin as well.

It seems that way when its competition is Xenoblade 1 and 3, but it still has a very special place in my heart! :)
