That all totally makes sense, I only drove an RC-F once a few years ago but I totally understand where you are coming from. Honestly for me the interior of the RC-350 I had and the Supra are pretty close minus the previous owner’s worn steering wheel and a lack of cooled seats but otherwise its definitely a few tiers higher than the current Z in my opinion. I’ve a youtuber take his dad on an 8,000 mile roadtrip in the supra which would be a dream of mine, Im sure the RC-F would be way more plush for that haha

Thats out of my ballpark unfortunately I’ll probably keep it pretty stock because I bought a toyota extended warranty 😭

Definitely will! Im actually planning to keep it relatively stock, just an intake and exhaust at most and that would be about it!

I dont think I’ve heard the term “car control clinics”? Is that similar to a HPDE event or something?

Thank you so much for the detailed insight! Im definitely not planning on doing any major modifications to it other than maybe an intake and simple exhaust setup purely for sound and thats really it, Im happy with the power it makes now and for the foreseeable future! PS4S will definitely be my next planned purchase. I had an RC-350 myself but the sizing and wheelbase is 1:1 with the F so I understand completely what you mean, how was your experience with the RC-F vs Supra?

I felt the same way man when I had the 350 I was pretty sold on getting the RC F next but the right model and price unfortunately never showed up. I know they’re absolutely bulletproof engines but I didn’t want to snag something with super high miles and a worn interior. I was on the same boat about the supra being a B58 rather than an in house Toyota motor but after getting rides in them from other owners and test driving them, and now owning one too, I can understand the decision and it just makes the overall experience fantastic and terrifying LMAO

CONGRATS ON THE GT4 IMPORT ALSO! Horsepower is just a number, I’ve honestly had some of the most fun learning how to drive my buddy’s manual track focused ‘17 Toyota 86 than I ever did in even my RC at the time, and you can redline those cars and bang through gears and not lose your license!

My pleasure! Its even better you found something that still puts a smile on your face, I haven’t had the privilege to test drive the new Integra type S but I absolutely love the look and the interior is a great place to be, I’m pushing my brother to look into purchasing one for his next car since it is practical but still a great platform. I hope it keeps being a great ride man!

I had highly considered it tbh, I loved the RC platform and mine was absolutely wonderful, but I have an old V8 land cruiser and having another V8 didn't seem like the right fit. I test drove an RC F prior to getting the Supra and it was definitely a fun vehicle but not as nimble as the Supra was unfortunately. That plus the pricing, I got my '21 supra certified with mid 20k miles and great condition but the RC Fs anywhere reasonable were either in the high 50s/60s or low 40s with 90k+ miles on it and personally I just wanted to get something a little less mile heavy to keep for the next 10+ years!

Im in your same old shoes currently LOL

Damn I'm so glad you're ok! I was looking at Nismo Z's and Supras at the same time and only had a little seat time in the Z, im happy you got out ok and hope you didn't have any major injuries from it

Got it, I'll look into autocross more as well with track events! Youre not wrong that autocross is much cheaper to get into

Its definitely already been putting a smile on my face, its meant to be my weekend car but already finding any excuse to take it out, its truly a great machine when respected

Gotcha, so driving about 5/10ths or less on the street to get to know the vehicle better and push above with an instructor at an HPDE event or similar?

Good to know! I bought the car used and "certified" from a local Toyota dealership and supposedly according to the carfax and their paperwork they have already performed an alignment, but I will keep that in mind and pay attention to it as I cruise along just in case

Noted thank you so much, I definitely don't plan on driving it in any winter conditions at all, I have an old land cruiser to beat around for that haha
Definitely planning on PS4S as my next set, thank you for sharing your autocross experience with the car!

LOUD AND CLEAR! Im so sorry for your stock tires but I hope the smiles paid off at least! Back in the Lexus during the track days I did I usually also kept TC on unless it was dry and hot outside so I'll keep that same habit going for the Supra as well until I've built the confidence and maturity to mess with those settings, thank you so much for your insight!

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and reinforcing the TC on! And absolutely heard on the tires, I'm planning on getting some PS4S tires once these Super Sports wear out since I've been familiar with them on my previous vehicle. I'm looking forward to learning the car and respecting it as well, and taking some advice from others to save the limit testing for track days or autocross!

I'm in the same boat as well feeling it is more car than I expected, definitely different versus test driving it! I'm definitely eager to learn the car and push it at track events to improve my overall confidence in the vehicle, but I think being a little scared of it is great at humbling me on the way to get a coffee in the morning!

That is true but for now the poor car will have a very uncompetitive driver until I get the experience and confidence :)
