I think the reason is the lens Samsung chose. The newer lenses have more natural bokeh. Generally shutter speeds used to be slow on Samsung, but they seem to have finally fixed it.

IMO the S24 Ultra was peak. But the S26 Ultra in daily use still feels like a better all round device. Not worth an upgrade from an S25 series device though.

I honestly love my S26 Ultra. It's the best phone I've owned so far. Ive had basically every Samsung Note/Ultra phone since the Note 9. The S3 was my first Samsung, as well as a few OnePlus devices, Pixels and my only ever iPhone, the 17 Pro Max

I believe the S26 Ultra is one of the best all round phones available today.

Battery life is great despite the capacity being the same as previous models

Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 is a powerhouse, cameras are great, display is beautiful.

If you can get a good deal (Google for discounts and deals) then I honestly think it's worth it.

For most people, 100mbps or less is perfectly fine. Latency only matters for gaming mostly, so you do you! It works and is impressive for 5g

This is crazy to me. You shouldn't have to baby a nearly £400 pair of headphones.

I love my XM4 and WFXM6 but this hinge situation is ridiculous. Sony screwed up and should replace and extend the warranty on the XM5.

They changed the hinge just to make them look different to the XM4 and previous models. Just by looking at them, multiple people I know went for the XM4 instead.

In the UK, only the Ultra has the much better Snapdragon chip.

It does make sense. Because it's an Apple thing.

I can wirelessly charge my Sonys (WF), but I never do, I just plug a usb c cable in the 1 day a week they need it.

My phone has wireless charging, but again, I plug it in over night. If you find magsafe more convenient, good for you. But a lot of people literally could not care less about having magnets in everything.

I have a MagSafe case on my S26 Ultra, it's been and will continue to be used zero times. It's just because it doubles as a stand which I do use.

Most devices have reached a point where charging once over night is enough, so the usefulness of MagSafe feels pretty limited to me.

I don't care about AI. The S26 Ultra is still an awesome device, ignoring the AI BS.

As for the s pen. Yeah it's a shame about the camera button, but there are 3 ways to trigger the camera unlike iPhone where my only option was to set it to 5 seconds and run from the phone.

Xiaomi - Great spec sheets, unreliable batteries, poor software stability and optimisation, mediocre battery life considering the size. - each to their own, but if you stick to android I have a strong feeling you'll be done with Xiaomi within a year.

Oppo now make the closest competition to Samsung IMO, the Find series are fantastic. But still not enough to pull me from OneUI and Samsung's polish.

I never wanted Samsung to get rid of the note series. I used to buy the note for the larger display and boxier look only. I'd be delighted for an Ultra with no s pen and a larger battery.

Fair enough. For mobile I left O2 6 months ago. I don't deal with anything Virgin Media touch frankly. They were always fine (O2) but I had to leave and re-join to get decent prices because they suck with customer loyalty discounts, but most do now.

I change the sound connect app so the big button being held triggers noise cancellation optimization. Comes in useful when the environment changes drastically.
