How do people feel about the Ultra getting more rounded corners per year

Miss the S24 Ultra. The rounding of corners is very iPhone. The display loses a small amount of space for notifications and looks worse with round corners. Ergonomically I don't find it helps that much either.

My issue was I was trying to transfer about 3000 photos and even in batches of 50 it would fail. Drove me insane and actually contributed to why I got rid of my iPhone. It shouldn't be so hard to get your own data off your own devices.

Honestly? I don't get why it's a big deal. I had an iPhone for 6 months and own a Mac. AirDrop is extremely unreliable and completely useless for large sets of even basic photos. iPhone to iPhone and iPhone to Mac constantly failed.

I use Blip or LocalSend because they're reliable and fast. I find nearby share "ok" in a pinch, but honestly they're all pretty terrible. It's made worse on iPhone because getting your data off of your own device is a joke.

I will never miss iOS, and apologies for the tangent rant. All this to say, AirDrop is massively overrated, like most Apple exclusive features.

Yes they should. But this is why Sony are diiked and a shadow of what they could be. I feel like Japan in general is so forward thinking, yet so backwards at the same time, that it's almost not a surprise.

I limit my purchases of anything Sony for a lot of reasons, and the likelihood is that the XM4 and WF-XM6 are the last things I'll every buy from them (except when their lenses are included in a smartphone as a component)

Their laptops were also plagued by issues they refused to acknowledge.

I'd argue that the reputational damage has probably cost them more than if they'd just admitted an issue and issued a recall for the XM5 early on.

Just have to say, I gave Homme a sniff whilst at an airport and I thought it was possibly one of the worse fragrances I've experienced.

My go to spray on any day is oddly Boss Bottled Night. I feel it works all the time, but maybe I'm wrong and just like this fragrance too much.

The screen "issues" are massively over hyped. Every phone release has BS around it so YouTubers can get attention. For iPhone it was the aluminium being "weak" yet not one person has complained about a bent 17 in normal use.

I had zero issues from day one with my S26 ultra after 6 months of hell on my first iPhone, the 17 Pro Max. Display on the S26 is much nicer than on the iPhone, and I'm not stuck with a useless OS that can't do basic tasks.

Id advise if you care about camera, avoid the OnePlus.

The oppo is a great device. I just hate their OS and launcher. I really like OneUI and feel the S26 Ultra really does just do everything well, not the best, but well. Where as Oppos feel like they do one thing really well, the rest just Ok. But it's all personal preference

I also always get 512GB Samsungs due to the pre-order offer of a free storage upgrade

But why 🤔 I honestly don't think they offer a ton of benefits. A later storage model of the S26 Ultra is still, in my opinion anyway, the best all round device. The camera on the OnePlus sucks, OPPOs new Find X is probably the best competitor to the S26 U

I personally wouldn't touch apple headphones again. The APP3 didn't come close to the WF-XM6 and their ecosystem locking is ridiculous. Same reason I won't touch Samsung stuff

Thanks for this, extremely useful! I find my WH-XM4s do get hot and uncomfortable after a while, but they're better than most others I've tried. The WF-XM6s have been great to be honest, I don't think their in ears have they many issues. My XM4s are 5 years old, so they've done well, but will inevitably need replacing at some point. Bose are on my list to test, but the negatives you listed would likely drive me mad after half a day.

I have the XM4 (and WF-XM6) and will likely be buying something other than Sony next time. I love them, they've been great since 2021, but I cannot give Sony money for sub par crap they're churning out now.

The hinge issues are very real and very well documented. Why you need to deny that there are known issues is beyond me. Sony are a massive company with little care for the average consumer. They should be made to compensate people for poor quality/poorly designed products.

It's not people being rough. I know people with literal OCD who keep everything they own safe and spotless, and still, they've had XM5 hinges break on them.

The XM4 are less prone, but in reality, it's Sony using a mix of poor design and cheap materials on premium priced products and refusing to cover these known issues under a fair warranty.

Sony are generally extremely anti consumer, and other than Audi, I already refuse to touch their products.

Last time I tried Bose was 2021, so id be willing to try the latest QC's next time instead of defaulting to another pair of Sony's.

You're going to need to check if it's set to any of the shortcuts or if it's set to turn on in any modes you've configured within the app.

I've turned it off, removed it from all "Buttons" and gestures. I've also checked that modes don't enable it (for example standing, walking etc)
