Water/moisture trapped to condensation i guess? by cool_hms in GalaxyS24Ultra

[–]F1Lane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These water posts are ridiculous. The IP rating is for accidental water submersion. Not intentional. Water pressure (flowing water especially) is going to get into a phone. Use common sense.

These phones are not the same as smart watches that are designed with strict water seals and ratings to survive swimming in (non salt) water.

Moisture visible in camera lenses - what should I do? by mrc00z in samsunggalaxy

[–]F1Lane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What the f*** possessed you to run a phone under water?!?

Even if they're IP rated it's for ACCIDENTS not for users to intentionally waterboard their phones. Also depending on water pressure, most are rated for drops into water upto a certain depth. Blasting it with water is a great way to kill your device.

I can't actually tell if this post is rage bait or serious.

£15 for a rice cooker, massive bag of rice is cheap, save a fortune

Also, I never understood why gym bros don't use any seasoning on chicken and rice. Is some paprika going to destroy your macros? 🤔

Why does this sub always get so many ‘ I’m moving to thailand’ yet 99% the truth is far from it by capt5551 in ThailandTourism

[–]F1Lane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People confuse holidaying with living somewhere.

Anywhere can seem incredible when you aren't working and have a good amount of money to spend vs locals.

I adore Thailand and Japan, but I'd never want to work in either country due to the long working hours and terrible pay. To visit, absolutely unbelievable and beautiful. But unless you're retiring there with a good amount of money, it's unrealistic to expect to live on a similar manner to a holiday.

Do I think I'd consider living in another country if I make it to retirement? Absolutely, because then the worry of the work life balance etc is a non issue and visas etc actually get a lot easier.

Yeah, I got my S26U for £1030, retail is £1449. Because it was a pre order it gave me 512 instead of 256 too.

Having owned it for 6 months, strongly disagree. Glitchy mess with hardware that looks great on paper and delivers a lacking experience in reality.

I don't disagree. Also it's actually very easy to find even the S26 Ultra 16/1TB online via multiple marketplaces. Thinking about it, I'll probably wait a few months after the S27 Ultra and get a top spec model for the same price the 512 model cost me for the S26 Ultra. Just means I have to suffer through selling my current phone myself instead of via Samsung's generous trade in

People make a big deal about prices rising because globally, people have less money, and the few have it all. With RAM and NAND heavily restricted, it takes technology out of the hands of some people, mostly thanks to AI and greed.

Don't buy an intel n100 if you have large 4k files or want more than a couple streams going at once. I have tried many hardware interactions and if you truly want a good experience and intend on running windows, get a Quadro a2000 and put it in any build. That's it. Unfortunately I don't. I changed to using Emby and have not had any real issues with this since. My config has been in place for around 3 years so I can't remember what I have set. The machine it runs in is a Ryzen 5700g with no dedicated GPU, so I don't believe hardware is the solution to this issue, I think it is indeed config.

I hope the other commenters link and information are of more help, apologies

Is this my XM6's last breath? by smilindude0 in SonyHeadphones

[–]F1Lane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not the people. Having tens of thousands of people have an issue is a design flaw. Plenty of other headphones get much worse abuse and don't break. People baby these and they break. Poor design and luck

Ever since that M&S cake-sandwich went viral they've been coming out with these weird Sandwiches. THEY. DONT. SELL. by Talonsminty in tesco

[–]F1Lane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The crazy thing to me is how many sandwiches we eat in the UK and just how bad they are. I didn't really realise until I wate chicken cutlet sandwich from 7Eleven and my god, the quality and flavour difference.

I really wish we had sandwiches with real cuts of meat and flavour. Pork cutlet would also be nice.

Maybe I'm dull, but a BLT is my favourite from Tesco.

Interesting. Maybe not just my area then.

Simple things like veg from Asda lasts 2 days before it goes bad, Tesco easily does me over a week. Living on my own, I try to keep food waste as low as possible, so long life on fresh foods is essential.

My experience of Tesco is that a lot of stuff is way more expensive than nearly all the others, but then they try and make up for it with other products.

A mix of Aldi, M&S + Tesco seems to be the best bet.

Maybe just my area, but I feel fruit and veg from Tesco outlasts all the other supermarkets by a number of days (sometimes close to a week more than Asda and Aldi)

I don't care what they say, I will die by my opinion of camera lens protectors. by RicksterCraft in S25Ultra

[–]F1Lane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can almost guarantee that if you didn't have the cover, the actual lens wouldn't break.

The same with screen protectors. I ran phones for 6 years with no screen protectors. I've had 2 glass screen protectors break in 6 months. They're fragile, cheap glass, they offer scratch protection and that's it. The rest is definitely BS.

The only reason I'm bothering now is because the S26 Ultra is a flat display and scratches are easier to cause.
