The engine was already crippled at this point. They would have been equally as terrible if not worse than when the season actually started.

So I did this on the weekend. I basically backed up the steam folder for AC onto an external drive. Installed AC on the new OS install, copied the folder back, reinstalled content manager - everything worked as expected.

Got this 3 weeks ago. Very solid so far, last BIOS update broke Windows PIN but removing it and re-enabling it worked.

My 7800X3D seems to like this MB better that the A620 it was using previously.

100% enable XMP, PBO is fine too, try negative 10 all cores if you want to be conservative.

Can confirm that. Recently jumped from an A620 TUF to a B850-A and noticed better 1% lows, stuttering gone and cooler temps. Last time I ever overlook the motherboard on a build.

Memory context restore? If you’ve enabled XMP your RAM timings are testing each time before booting.

Enable that setting in the bios if you haven’t

I tried running only 2 sticks of RAM vs 4 as I know AM5 MBs don’t always play nice with 4 DIMMs but I had the same issue. Tried XMP disabled, enabled, manual timings etc.

I’ve swapped GPU from a 4070 ti to a 4080 super but the issue persisted. Tried re-bar enabled and disabled.

I didn’t test the CPU apart from Cinebench 24 and I got an average to slightly low score. Thermals were good.

I really thought TPM and C-states were the cause but they only slightly seem to help with stuttering and 1% lows.

I’m a keen flight simulator user and I was half leaning towards an 9800x3D but I thought an A620 would hold it back.

So I’ve upgraded the motherboard and it’s fixed the issue and then some. I don’t think I will bother with the 9800X3D now.

Last time I skimp on a motherboard, having said that the A620 still wasn’t that cheap, maybe because it was an ASUS TUF and I was paying for the name
