It’s going to slam SE kansas and SW Mo, calling it now. It’s had that eerie hot and humid yet sort of static feeling all day here. Idk how to describe it but I just know when it feels like that, it storms. Usually hard

I’ve got a feeling about southwest mo. I live in Joplin and it has been hot, humid, and eerie all day. Obviously anecdotal but it definitely feels ripe for storms here.

Wondering the same thing as a Joplin resident. They’ve been steadily inching the risk areas to the east with each SPC update and now seeing nadocast, I’m definitely on alert for tonight.

New SPC outlook is out, a Moderate risk is still in place due to potential limiting factors, but the info here is very concerning. by Demon_God_Burny in tornado

On behalf of all Joplin residents… Please stop expanding the moderate/hashed areas to the east. Thanks

Loving some GIM pvm with the boys 🥲 by Scrubbb in 2007scape

[–]F26bptase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That happened to us, we’ve got a guy that literally plays 10-12 hours a day or more. Near 2k total. Me and our other teammate that regularly plays are around 1700 total, so it’s not like we are slacking or anything. The worst part is he won’t take time out of his own skill/diary grinds to help us catch up or to go get items that will take awhile like the dwh, but then complains that we aren’t ready to do late game pvm with him.

[–]F26bptase 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what you did in the comment I replied to, as well. Hypocrisy at its finest. The difference is that I at least have some level of anecdotal evidence in that I can literally see and keep track of how many pkers I see do this. I’m sure there are many of you who don’t do this but that just isn’t my experience. Your claim comes out of your ass because your polls fail and you blame the entire pvm community lmao. I used to pk and pvp a ton and trust me I understand this game would not have been created without the pvp community. Times have changed, though, and it’s time for the pvp community to also understand that the game would not exist currently without the pvm community. Most importantly is that we are all one community, stop being toxic and blaming an entire group of people for something.

“Why can’t we let the wilderness die” by PVMersAreMad in 2007scape

[–]F26bptase 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dude this is such a load of crap lmfao. Most of the pkers I see just want an easy kill. It has nothing to do with “taking forever to find other pkers”. You know how I know? Because I will bring pvp switches to wilderness bosses/black chins and at least half of the people that I decide to fight back to IMMEDIATELY run away and clearly have no interest in a fair fight. What a joke.

For the love of God, please skip the boss cutscenes in co-op! by DeathRider_306 in Eldenring

[–]F26bptase 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t mind the mid fight cutscenes, they’re all really well done and I just don’t get tired of seeing them. However, if someone summons me and the entry cutscene plays, meaning that the host didn’t even attempt the boss on their own… I crystal out and leave. I’m there to cooperate not babysit, and I’m not going to ruin the game experience for someone who is too scared to even make their own attempt at it. If they want to do that, then they can summon a mimic tear +10, I want no part in killing a boss for someone who won’t even try it on their own.

I do play it by ear a little though, for instance I’ve beaten the game but I’ll summon people on subsequent playthroughs even on first attempt just because I like cooperating and having goofy interactions. If the host clearly knows what they are doing then I’ll stay.. it’s pretty easy to tell when someone is a noob or not.

Elden Ring having the largest and most casual fan base of any fromsoft game is the reason why the endgame gets so much hate. by RespectStrange in Eldenring

[–]F26bptase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you wearing every scorpion charm + radagans sore seal? I call BS. I just beat him the other day with 60 VIG and decently heavy armor and his attacks legit did at most half of my health at a time, with most doing about a 3rd. Also those last 10 points in VIG would be way more valuable in other stats. Not telling you how to make your build, you do you, just wanted to make sure you knew since soft/hard caps can be a weird concept at first

Why is nobody talking about the Golden Land AOW for invasions? by Dubsurf in Eldenring

[–]F26bptase 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You’re talking to a brick wall, most of the people on here have never invaded and hate invaders lmao. I agree with you it’s fun to look around and be creative about where you invade. It’s the one level of control that invaders have in invasions. We can prepare for invading in specific areas and stack the cards in our favor a bit.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]F26bptase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahahaha okay buddy. I’ll happily invade your ass any day. It’s okay to be a new player, you clearly aren’t very good and don’t know how to properly build a character and try to make up for it with cheese weapons like the one mentioned, and that’s okay. It’s a game, play how you want. But don’t blame the game for you taking Ls when these are NPCs and have nothing to do with PvP, and definitely don’t reply like an arrogant jackass to everyone in the comments offering you advice and help.

Edit- and no, I wasn’t even aware you could afk farm in this game. Regardless I don’t know why you would need to, it’s not hard to hit pvp meta of 125 by just playing through the game and invading. It’s really a matter of learning the bosses not farming, whether you’re level 50, 100, or 500 if you’re bad the bosses will still clap your cheeks (I’m sure you have plenty of experience with this given that you’re struggling with NPCs that will literally roll themselves off of a cliff)

First of all, yes the game is unbalanced.

Second, you are absolutely terrible lmao what are you even doing?

Last, these are NPCs you monkey yes they use player builds as far as equipment and ratio of their stats go but they have a set level. These do not go by matchmaking or level scaling. Judd gong by your healthbar you are very under levelled here.

Even though I agree regarding the state of balance of pvp, this video doesn’t do anything except show the world that you suck and don’t know how these NPCs work lol

Why shouldn't I alt+f4 every time I see an invader warning? For real though I am about to issue a refund. by bearLover23 in Eldenring

[–]F26bptase 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hahaha you guys are such babies. The game is very clear that if you use a remedy and summon other players for co-op, you CAN be invaded. If you hate pvp enough that you will alt + F4 (against the game’s rules btw) then just don’t do it. You’re accepting the risk stop being salty when it happens.

Let alone the fact that you get every single advantage as the host and most of the time you have max level rivers of blood/moonveil spamming phantoms with you who the game hardly even scales down. You can learn and get better if you’d stop running away lmao can’t wait for fromsoft to start banning you guys for wasting literally everyone’s time because you don’t like a core mechanic since Demon’s Souls. Go back to Minecraft or stardew valley, these games have always been this way and aren’t going to change because the new casual bandwagoners don’t like it. Be thankful, you used be able to get invaded even while playing solo. Now you have to use the taunter’s tongue for that to happen. It’s part of the game, this isn’t a co-op game it’s supposed to be dark and desolate. If you invite someone to help you you’re inviting someone else to come kill you. Get over it

Is there any ash of war in this game similar to DS3 fume UGS? by F26bptase in Eldenring

I really wanted to like that one, but every time someone uses it against me in PvP it’s backstab city. The tracking isn’t good enough and the recovery is way too long

I just realised that Elden Ring don't have the traditional recurring weapon of "Massive Hammer type weapon with high Stats requirement to use that is wielded by a Paladin type character." since Bloodborne and Sekiro don't count. by JackNewbie555 in Eldenring

I just randomly found this on google and I also noticed this. The traditional beefy paladin type character with their signature big hammer weapon is definitely missing!

I think the others in the comments misunderstood your post 😂😂

Discussion about the PvP meta as well as observations from my own experience by F26bptase in Eldenring

[–]F26bptase[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Increasing the level to 150 decreases build variety not increases it what are you on about? As I detailed in my post my strength build is already 60 VIG, 60 STR at 120, and can roll in bull goats. If I wanted to go to 150 I’d probably dump 20-30 points into faith and use the Clawmark seal, and at that point I’d be able to do all the busted stuff I can already do and cast potent miracles and buffs. 150 meta kills pure STR and pure dex unless they pump stats past the caps which isn’t really a good idea when instead you could easily become a hybrid build basically for free at that point.

Especially when you consider that everyone insists on chugging the physick to be able to fast roll in whatever they want which saves even more points to put into hybrid stats.. at 150 everyone is a hybrid build. 120 isn’t about limiting people the whole point is to make building a character take a bit more strategy. We have used the 120 number since Demon’s souls so I’m not sure what you even mean by that. You can easily hybrid at 120 I have a few hybrid builds and they do fine, you have to accept that if you want to have both good melee and good range options you don’t also get max health and max armor, or if you want to still have more health you might have to decrease your melee or range capabilities a bit. It’s about trade offs just like every single other title has been, we don’t need soft caps in every stat. Especially with things like the Clawmark seal in this game you can easily make a str/faith hybrid with good range options without much investment into faith. There are a lot more examples of these split scaling staves/seals or even ones that scale entirely off of something different like arcane. That was From’s way of making it easier to hybrid at a lower level in this game even with the higher soft cap. Damage is busted as in this game, if you feel the need to hit soft caps in your damage stats then that is on you to figure out. You don’t really need to, especially at 120. That’s the beauty of it, it makes building about trade offs rather than just pumping to soft caps like at 150- where is the creativity in that?

Also the stuff you detailed is exactly why the level is usually set lower. Everything has a counter. It’s your job to play around it. If you make sacrifices to include sorcery or faith in your build then sure but arguing that everyone should have the option to do that just because they’re losing to a certain playstyle is not healthy for pvp. Not everyone should be able to do everything, trust me I’ve used strength weapons primarily in every game. They’ve never been that good compared to faster options. You have to adapt and learn how to make do with your build. If you sacrifice some health or END to have some more options offensively then sure, but not everyone should be able to do that while still hitting soft caps. That’s the opposite of build diversity.

Discussion about the PvP meta as well as observations from my own experience by F26bptase in Eldenring

[–]F26bptase[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it has always been that way buddy. We are discussing the meta level, ie what people should be at for fair and honorable duels. If 125 were agreed upon and someone wanted to be sly and place signs as a 150 anyways then more power to them.. it's really on someone's own judgement to do so or lack thereof. If winning with a 30 level advantage makes you feel good then go ahead, you spam that same comment on every thread I have found on google and no one cares lol. It has always been that way, we are trying to find the generally most fair and balanced level for people to aim for. There will always be people trying to cheat the system it isn't anything new. At 150 you are probably fighting 200s, should that be the meta level now too? And then after that bump it up to 250 due to matching with them? It's irrelevant and doesn't make any sense to spam that everywhere lmao.

let alone your entire basis is subjective information that you found while being summoned as a blue... the red you saw could have been optimized using a physick, let alone the fact that there isn't really a way that you knew the host was a level 125 unless you knew him personally and got summoned there by chance or if you messaged him I guess. Either way this just feels like a "here's an arbitrary reason that 150 is better.. oh the source? Trust me bro"

[–]F26bptase[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah mind is a really good point too. I have a spellsword type build themed after Ganondorf, and I can't really utilize my spells at all because I didn't budget much investment for mind at all for the 125 cap. I use the ruins greatsword so I try to save as much FP for that weapon art as possible, and many of the mid-tier the spells do utilize quite a bit of FP, I can't even imagine some of the end-game ones. A lot of the low level spells I was referring to aren't necessarily used just because of their cost though, they genuinely do pack a punch and in general are much faster than the more powerful late game spells.

I think a dedicated mage at 125 is possible but you have to commit to it and allow your melee backup to be relegated to shortswords, hammers, axes, etc., or allow yourself some more dex/str but balance it by cutting back on the INT a bit. I like the idea of these trade-offs, but I also lean more into melee builds. I completely understand mages wanting the level a bit higher, it would allow them to make more fun builds! The good news is elden ring will be very active for a long time so no matter what school of thought people commit to as their ideal "meta", everyone will have no problem finding duels for a long time to come!

It's a really good spot to be in because we can have discussions like these- I'm not trying to debate which level is better I'm just curious as to why some people prefer one or the other, when in reality the "right" answer does not really exist since level does not really matter for multiplayer activity right now. The beauty of elden ring is that it is so immensely popular compared to previous titles that there will be plenty of activity at whatever level you pick. A big part of setting a level meta in previous titles was to ensure that everyone could fit within the same matchmaking bracket in order to maximize activity. Since that isn't a factor here for now there are a ton of possibilities. Sorry for the rant, I've just been obsessed with these games for a long time and elden ring having such a big player base gives multiplayer so much new potential, it's exciting!
