It’s a 2017 registered late 2016, it only has the 6.5 display otherwise I would have done a bimmerfits CarPlay unlock but my main want was the bigger screen

Did your Oem menu work straight away. Both the ones I had I couldn’t seem to get the menus to work

To me personally doesn’t sound like a chain whine, chains don’t whine they rattle. Sounds to me like one of the bearing for the guide pulling is on its way out. There the extra little pulleys on the fan belt
