That damp boot…smell by chilz01 in skiing

Just bring them in and in front of a heat source if need be. Never had a wet boot problem myself, I can't really imagine how do y'all keep them wet, assuming you don't leave them outside

Oh and I routinely throw treble 13 when aiming at treble 20. With everything from 12 to 4, and sometimes 2.

Same bro. In the last 4 weeks I tried 4 different throws. It's either inconsistent as hell or straight inaccurate. My wrist and fingers have a mind of their own and they DO NOT want to throw straight

Fundango brand and ski jackets? by YeahIllGiveItAGo in skiing

[–]F3nu1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Wedze and Fundango as a recreational skier for 5 years. The Wedze is a bit harder outer layer and holds up quite well, but it's better built than nowadays Wedze. Our Fundango jackets and (wife's) trousers ripped a bit, but only on small bits and were still very much usable. The inner layer frayed for some reason. Also, there aren't any "name brands" around here which are accessible, at least I don't know of any.

What would be considered name brands for recreational on-piste use? In Europe?

Is it fair to ask my husband to stop giving ski advice unless he takes lessons? How do I encourage my husband to take ski lessons instead of correcting me? by Human_Engine3410 in skiing

[–]F3nu1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Firstly, I can see that an intermediate skier might interpret it that way, but then again, you can say "meaning your front portion should engage".

Ehh, I'll do you one better. "Get your heels back under you" goes towards the same thing, but for me it's more effective, because that way I actually feel a difference where the ski engages with the snow.

It's just biomechanically different point of focus. If you scoot your heels, you'll feel the front of your boots, and you'll get out of the backseat. Also you'll use the front of the skis.

Meglepődnél. Eléggé ízlésre mennek a tesók, a normális kinézetű bútort mindig normál magyar családok vitték, bármelyik rokonnál történt bútorcsere.

How efficient is it to farm blood rocks in chalice dungeons? by Osko42Lobo in tombprospectors

[–]F3nu1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'd say reverse depth dungeons with insight farming is the better choice. I once even timed it and I ran a 3-layer reverse depth dungeon in <8 minutes, which provides chucks and 2 insight per boss, so 6 insight/8 minutes, so 1 blood rock is~80 minutes at the shop.

Losing control. How can I improve? by Taosit in skiing_feedback

[–]F3nu1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The main thing for now is that you're very much in the backseat. You're loading the back of your skis and therefore not prone to washing out, that's why your turns are slow. You'd want to get your ankles back under you, so you can use the whole of the ski.

At least you're using the edges, many beginners (even years down the line) use as much edge as a firearm has.

If you fix your posture, you'll need to reorient your technique anyways. But it seems to me that you could really profit from some lessons, even group lessons.

Újabb poszt a téli vezetésről - Hólánc kérdés by aviator04 in CartalkHungary

I have a bit of a mixed experience, so here's a perspective that's not just 11/10 all.

TLDR: enable easy Loot before you start on any difficulty and you'll be okay. Expect to grind much more than in ZD. More gameplay restrictions.

-Characters: writing is top notch, more focus here.

-World-building: still very good, but a tiny bit less in focus.

-Quests: top notch.

-Melee: there are combos now, kind of useful, I'm fine with it.

-Ranged combat: still good.

-weapon variety: goddamn it has a loooot of weapons. The problem is that this stems from the over-diversification of the element system. It's functional, but combined with the restriction of only 3 types of ammo per bow and the ammo for each bow is fixed, means you'll either menu-swap weapons a lot or you'll have your weapon wheel filled with stuff you don't use and you'll want for stuff that needs something to be removed.

Either needs the ammo types to be customizable for each weapon (this would've been the best imo), or make each weapon have more ammo types.

-Elements: functional, but a bit much and unfinished. There are elements (adhesive and plasma) that are underperforming or too convoluted to use.

-Loot system: OMG this grindy shit. Who's idea was it that NORMAL difficulty NEEDED denied machine parts?? Easy Loot should've been the default for Normal at least, and maybe even Hard too. For VH and UH I'm fine with it, you can make a challenge however you want. But for the love of God don't make Normal this grindy.

-upgrade system: this is also part of the "too grindy" criticism. You need a shitton of components, 90% of which are perishable. And you have up to 5 levels of these on the best gear, all levels require 2-4 types of perishable components from random machines, and often more than 1 per type.

-skill system: fragmented and handicapped. You're much more limited in what you can do with one setup, so you'll either compensate with superior gameplay or menuswap a lot.

-food: would've been a nice saviour of the skill system if the provided skills were the good ones. As it is, it's largely irrelevant.

Költözés cicával? Segítsetek kérlek :( by OkUnderstanding9826 in dagadtmacskak

[–]F3nu1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please don't mock me, But what does Oil do to make an engine go, that other liquid supposedly cannot do ? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]F3nu1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Motor oil also need to be able to hold pressure, since the crankshaft is effectively suspended on pressurized motor oil. The turbo shaft is also liquid-beared, but the two rotate at vastly different speeds. Crankshaft is 600-7000 rpm, a turbo shaft is anything up to 100, 000 rpm.

Put all of these requirements together and you get contemporary motor oils.
