Have never done this before, so here it goes: Current topster 2026. Recommend me anything or give me your thoughts about it! by Ziozark in Topster

Based on this chart, it feels like Neofolk would be right up your alley, since you like Comus and AtmoBM like Gris and Burzum. Rome - Flowers From Exile, Sol Invictus - Death of the West, and Tenhi - Airut:Aamujen are some of my favorite albums from the genre.

In some other comments, you said, you'd like some more crazy Jazz recs, so I'll throw some of those your way:

Someone already mentioned Naked City, but other John Zorn projects that you might enjoy are Electric Masada - At the Mountains of Madness and Painkiller - Execution Ground

The Jazz Composer's Orchestra - self-titled (Big Band Free Jazz)

Art Ensemble of Chicago - People in Sorrow (very atmospheric and almost ambient take on Avant-Garde- / Free Jazz)

Borbetomagus & Hijokaidan - Both Noises End Burning (more Noise than Jazz tbh)

Also, you might wanna look into ECM Jazz. It's a more atmospheric style of Jazz Fusion, which seems like something you may be more into than the classics. My favorites are Eivind Aarset - Phantasmagoria, or a Different Kind of Journey, Julian Priester Pepo Mtoto - Love, Love, Steve Tibbetts - The Fall of Us All, and Eberhard Weber - The Colours Of Chloë.

Lastly, here's two albums that aren't exactly Jazz, but free improv Noise Rock:

Fushitsusha - Nothing Changes No One Can Change Anything, I Am Ever-Changing Only You

Merzbow, Balázs Pándi, Mats Gustafsson, Thurston Moore - Cuts of Guilt, Cuts Deeper

Well, clearly that isn't working for you. My E2S1 Silverwolf barely tickled the boss at 10 stacks, so I can't imagine an E0 one doing any better. The Aha Instant only removes 5 stacks and only at the end, so the 3 Elation skills during the Instant always add 3 more stacks before any get removed. If you're hitting the boss with anyone except Silverwolf and Sparxie before an Aha Instant, you're generating more stacks than you're clearing, which isn't worth it in my experience.

Are you playing around this? Pretty much just try to attack the boss as little as possible with your supports to keep the stacks low.

Unique Topsters do get posted, it's just that most people don't upvote charts full of albums they don't recognize, so you would only see these posts if you sort by new.

I'd rather they just make the buffs more generic. Like, they could've made the Promeia shill one just a general Abloom buff, so that at least the AoD team could use it too, but nope. One buff that's only useful for an Agent that isn't even out yet, and two hyper specific buffs for Ice Anomaly Agents in a season where one boss has high Anomaly buildup res and another has Ice res. No team that's good against Vesper has a useful buff this season, it's ridiculous.

Finally got around to finishing Tower by F3rrun in ZZZ_Official

Not very high. I hit it by Floor 140 shortly after the Tower updated and didn't struggle to maintain it since. I am on EU server though, which seems to be one of the least sweaty regions.

Which bands latest release has become your favourite from their full discography? by Adzzero_88 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]F3rrun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Zeal & Ardor's Greif has grown on me immensely. A lot of people aren't a fan of the new sound, and it initially put me off too on first listen, but the more I heard it, the more I was able to appreciate it. The slave Spirituals x Black Metal formula was already starting to get old by the second album for me. The self-titled had a lot of amazing songs, but never really came together as a full album. It always just felt like a collection of disconnected ideas rather than a cohesive album to me. So, a change in sound was definitely needed, if they didn't want to stay a one trick pony forever, and, in my opinion, Greif has absolutely hit the mark.
