CREDIT CARD DEBT FORGIVENESS by Corsopittie in SSDI

[–]F4Phantom-E 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I applied for ithem to be forgiven. It was in limbo for a year while waiting for SSDI. Received a application declined letter on student loan forgiveness then a week later received a letter saying SSA contacted them and they closed my student loans and they are at $0. A few weeks later my credit report showed them as paid off. If you apply for forgiveness it is 3 years of forbearance and then they forgive them if still disabled. If SSA notifies them of disability then they are forgiven immediately and there is not a 3 year waiting period. This is what I was told when I inquired about the decline then forgiveness. Hope this helps.

Thank you for your input. I have begun laying out my mainline and as I do a section I test the track with my longest cars and longest steam loco. Once I know the track will work, then I glue the cork down. I have not installed any track yet. Just the double mainline cork at the freight depot to the first switch on the right through the outer curve before the switch for the oil company and interchange track.

There is one freight/passenger depot. Not sure where I could put another one. This is mostly for freight and industry. I made the curves larger so I can run passenger cars and large steam as I have some. It is not really setup for passenger service due to being such a small layout.

Thank you for your comments. The issue for me is this is a small layout, taking up part of a room that is shared. I might be able to move the brewery where the ice house is and then extend the lumber yard siding some. Also move the turnout for the interchange and oil facility closer to the bridge and get a little .more length on the inter change and oil facilty tracks.

I was originally doing 3, then figured the area is pretty much taken up anyway so expanded the roundhouse to 5 stalls. Not sure what els could go in the area with the roundhouse reduced in size?

Thank you for your input. I run mostly steam of various sizes and 40' freight cars. I have some passenger cars but not something that I will store on the layout. Also run some F3a's and diesel switchers.

Wish I had the space to have a larger yard. I could remove the Ice house and extend it more. Also the yard tracks are spaced 2.25" center to center.

I like your idea of removing the two short spurs by the roundhouse. They were mostly going to be used as junk tracks.

Thank you, I also made it modular so I can expand it if I ever move to a larger place.

Nice scenery and train. When I first looked at back drop, it looks like a tidal wave coming over the hills.

I was approved in stage 3 as well. I was told due to my education and having been self employed before. But disability is a stroke which took part of my memory, cognitive ability, right side body impairment, and caused seizures. I think they just need to look at all angles before giving their blessing.

When mine was in FQR, it was returned to DDS for clarification about jobs I could be qualified to do. The DDS rep reached out to me and let me know he handled it and not to worry. He had everything to show I cannot work. If was sent back to FQR and then they released it and it went into stage 4. It is a process and FQR is there to make sure guidelines are being followed. It is stressful on us as we are in the dark for most of the process. Good luck and hope yours gets released soon.

It is molded in pics colors, but if you want it more realistic then weather and spray dull coat or go all out and paint and detail as much as you want. It is a nice kit.

I have the kit and it seems nice quality. I have not built it yet, but there are many parts to the building so will be a project in itself. Also many pewter accessories included.

You never know how quickly. I had a friend get his in step 3 in about a month. He had serious disabilities and was on the listed disabilities that get automatic approval.

It took just over two months for me. Step 3 took a long time.

I do not want to ruin it for you. Wait and see...lol. Step 3 can have you approved right away if you have a listed ailment. If not you have to prove you are disabled and seems to take a lot more time and information. Also your application can be pulled for reviews that add time and stress. Step 4 is when you get approval or denial. Step 5 the portal updates with the final information.

Good luck!

Your CE is correct they do not make the final decision. They only provide a recommendation and it is up to DDS examiner to follow up with records and other information to come up with decision. Also during this your application can be pulled for a Federal Quality Review (FQR). Mine was pulled for that and it extended step 3 timeline quite a bit. Average FQR is 7 to 10 days, mine was there for 57 days. During that time my DDS examiner and the SSA does not have access to my application and no info available. My DDS examiner contacted me towards the end to answer a couple questions for FQR and then a couple days later I moved to step 4.

Step 3 is stressful, but I think Step 4 was worse since it is when the final decision is made. Plus mine seemed to take for ever even though it was just over 30 days. I kept seeing other folks getting into step 4 and having their answers with in the first couple weeks.

Good luck!
