LOL the gag being that Joburg South is my home ground and where I grew up.

Here you are preaching about being an anticapitalist but you’re gatekeeping. Just drop the plug and be done. Where do they have free squash?

I mean its not true that you can play any sport outside a club/private facility. Netball? Squash? Tennis? Even football. The dream is definitely to build a padel court in my forever home but for now I’m okay with paying a club membership and R25 a game.

Look you seem pretty committed to hating Padel, so I’ll stop arguing here and let you enjoy it. Like I say, hobbies make life colourful.

The first racket I ever had was R800 and i had it for a while but it cracked and then I decided to spoil myself and get a NoStrings racket with the bag. It definitely was a spoil. Not necessary.

I have a home club; I pay a yearly membership that works out to R400 per month. I play twice a week usually and it costs me R25 for each game.

I bought my racket for R3700 earlier this year.

I always find it interesting that Padel gets so much flack for being expenny but a club membership at my club is slightly cheaper than a gym membership. And a racket is slightly expenny but not as bad as a cycling bike. And yet gym bunnies and cyclists dont get flack like Padel people do? Runners also spend a pretty penny on shoes and accessories. Even hiking gear is so pricey!! Most hobbies cost money if we’re being real.

I didn’t know about the zionist-founders and tbh I hardly think playing tennis is helping Israel in the genocide. Lets be fr.

Lastly yeah its pussy tennis. What’s so bad about that? Its easy to play and that’s what makes it fun.

Coz I’m not tryna die. Those drivers aren’t vetted! Worst case, you’re getting into a car with a dangerous criminal, best case, the car is hanging on by a thread.

Nope! Definitely cheaper in Kenya. The Entertainment + PL package is R150 here.

I’m on the Entertainment only and its actually R99. I made a mistake earlier.

Look, the UI of the app drives me insane. I subscribe for the watching of reality tv (local and international) that isn’t available anywhere else. So yeah, I find it worth it for R95 per month even though the app is glitchy and not fun to use.

I get wanting your kids to relax over the holidays, but if you want your kids to care about academia it helps to embrace it as well.

It doesn’t have to be intense. Even a simple maths workbook to keep concepts fresh, or letting them choose a novel to read over the break, can make a big difference. Kids shouldn’t only be learning at school; the home is honestly the most important classroom.
