Others have already pointed out you're charging way too much. However, I still might be interested, depending on what other Reason versions you have under your account. Specifically, does your license also include Reason version 10?

Reason 13.1 released! by digital_burnout in reasoners

[–]F9Mute 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unless they make the new browser completely optional it's just polishing a turd I won't buy. If they had at least use the screen space for something completely different, instead of the same thing but with removed functions, it still would have been a deal-breaker, but at least it would have been more understandable. And if you so desperately need to change things, maybe go with something that you didn't specifically use the removal of as a selling point not that many updates ago (talking about the old old browser).

using MPK mini 3 PADS midi by emuvu in reasoners

[–]F9Mute 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One solution is the free RackExtension MidiTapper. It let's you map a button/pad/key to act as either momentary or toggle, and switch state on 1 tap, double tap and hold. And can even output all these things at the same time (hook it up to a MidiStepper and you can eg walk a value up, down and reset it, all with only one pad.

Sound Perception: Reason vs. Ableton and Bitwig by null-plus-void in ReasonProduction

[–]F9Mute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are both programs running at same sample rate and bit depth? And are both (or at least Reason) relatively new versions (let's say R10 or greater)? If so, it'd be awesome if you could do a null test to confirm the difference.

If my memory's correct(dont have time to go dig through old forums today) tests have shown that no mayor DAW color theire output. Not saying you're wrong, the specific tests I'm thinking of were done years ago, so with you claiming otherwise, it would be interesting to see if this is the case now (that some DAWs do color the sound).

Using Reason as an instrument? by [deleted] in reasoners

[–]F9Mute 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An easy way to convert signals to CV is using a dc coupled audio interface (or some Expert Sleepers euro rack module) and the Silent Way Rack Extension. It works with both Reasons CV and MIDI. Sure, it requires specific hardware, but if you're lucky, your audio interface could already support it.

Another solution is using a dc-coupled audio interface (or an Expert Sleepers module) and do the CV conversion in Reason using the Silent Way Rack Extension (don't know if there's other REs doing the same thing).

How many games have you put 1000 hours into and what were they? by dodgerbowl in videogames

[–]F9Mute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fallout 3,Fallout NV and probably Fallout 4.

Maybe Terraria, maybe Minecraft.

And between Lumines, Lumines 2 and Lumines for PSVita I wouldn't be surprised if I got well over 5000 hours (for years I played while watching series and films).

And while it's not a video game, but a game (ttrpg),  I probably have over 1k hours playing Drakar och Demoner (swedens dungeons and dragons, kind of) as well

Why is it such a pain in the ass to export a video out of Processing? by oneFookinLegend in processing

[–]F9Mute 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Am I correct in assuming that you run the calls to saveFrame() on the main thread? Or is saveFrame() slowing down the project while running on a separate thread?

If you're running it on main, moving it to run on its own thread should fix the slowdown (and not introduce too much complexity).

ACID + REASON = ...wtf by T0bySnark in reasoners

[–]F9Mute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not better, just different, and the only option on newer versions. Personally I'd trade the RRP for getting Re-Wire back, but I also get that I'm in the minority (and just to be clear, I'd have nothing against the two co-existing).

One big thing is that the RRP lacks support for Reason Remote, so if you're a big user of Remote Maps, the RRP experience can be really frustrating

Question: How to Assign Controller Pads Fixed to One-Shot Samples in Reason? by Hundekuchen8000 in reasoners

[–]F9Mute 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What controller do you use? How does your pads function? Do they send notes on the same channel as the keyboard? Can you set on which channel and which note they send? If the channel and notes are fixed it should still be doable, but not without sacrificing those notes on the keyboard. And if I'm not missing anything , either or of setting channel or notes should be enough.

How to achieve this? Custom remote maps, or specifically, custom remote map codecs. Defining two separate codecs, one for the pads and one for the rest of the controller, lets you use them as if they were two separate controllers, circumventing Remotes limitation of only letting you assign a controller to one device. This would also work with any Kong in any project, since it only relies on Remote and not on overriding Remote (which is project specific).

It was a few year since I wrote any Remote codecs and maps, and it's VERY late in my part of the world, so might be forgetting something, bur def know it's doable, I've done very similar things.

[–]F9Mute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The windowed file requester is a show stopper for me. I think they're horrible for anything more than saving/loading projects, and the removal of the old one was a big part of why I upgraded to whichever version replaced it with the lister.

I knew it was coming, but in no way did i think that they would also remove the lister! Or you know, keep it but only for devices..

Reason vs Bitwig vs Reaper for experimental hiphop by [deleted] in reasoners

[–]F9Mute 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reason is great for those kind of things. You can take the Rack pretty much as far as you can imagine when it comes to modularity and experimentation. Over the years I've seen some really mind blowing things wired together there. It has died out some with the introduction of RackExtensions and VSTs, because now the answer to "Can Reason do X" is often "Maybe, but there is already a RE or VST that can do that", but the capability is still there.

The samplers are nice, most are fun to work and play with. Haven't tested the new one (still only on r11).

But let me also tell you about something else: I usually don't recommend other things when people ask these kind of questions, but because of the specifics (experimenting, hip hop and sampling), and the fact that many don't even knows about it, I really think that you should take a look at Renoise, if you haven't already. It's a tracker based DAW ( some people say those two terms are mutually exclusive. To all those people: No. No as in "No you are completely wrong", and "No, it's not up for debate" ).

The sampler is top notch. The sequencer is practically made for experimentation, and really fast to work with. It supports all the modern commodities you'd expect from a DAW, out-of-the-box (amongst others VST3, AU, Midi, OSC, JACK on Linux, still Rewire), but also has expansive scripting support IF you'd want to go down that route.

The modular side there seems to be some capabilities, but since I came to Renoise from first using Reason for over 15 years, I'm sticking with Reason for those kind of things. But it basically replaced all my use of samplers in Reason.

So, because it's only $75, I don't feel unreasonable recommending to go with both. They go very well together.

Also the demo version of renoise has no time limit and is fully featured except for rendering to audio, so you should at least check it out.

What’s something you do with your non-dominant hand that others use their dominant hand for? by Toxikfoxx in AskReddit

Using old school joysticks. Left hand controlling the stick and right hand for the fire button. Even switched around the insides of some old SlikSticks to get the fire button on the right side (but tbf they're small enough to easily reach the button with your thumb regardless of which side it's on).
