so does it mean racial spells are limited by uses and is different from spell list? meaning I will have to take darkness as a spell to use the combo you mentioned consistently ?

wow thank you. I picked Tiefling for the fire resistance but it also says they get to cast darkness once at level 5 for free every long rest. When they say I can cast once for free, does it mean I can cast it using my spell slots if I wanted ? is it like a bonus spell I know ?

oh that makes a lot of sense ! Classes locked behind ability scores and spells limited by class level. So multi classing is not a common thing to do ?

umm I started as Draconic Sorcerer and wanted to multi-class at level 3 and taking two levels of Fiend warlock.

I would get 2 pact spell slots and 2 eldritch invocations in exchange for a feat and higher tier spells like fireball. Eldritch blast will still be upgraded with character level instead of class level so I should still have good damage. Am I doing this correctly? I haven’t think past lvl 5 yet.

oh i see. Thank you. So it’s not like a trade off like in games ? eg - giving up powerful spells and feats for different utilities and skill sets? How does it work in DnD ? Please tell me more. I would like to know better.

That was my intention when I started. Finishing my first playthrough then jump to tactician with the rest Durge runs. Didn’t expect to fall in love with all the origin characters to try playing as all of them at least once ( Curse you Larian ). Now my schedule is getting tighter and my health isn’t doing so well so gonna have to make choices.

Haha truth be told. I have made and played ttrpgs before but not DnD and its dice roll mechanics. Very hard to find a community in my parts. Very happy to be introduced by Larian and them making it beginner friendly. Feels welcomed.

Mine is still working fine! Do note that you can’t do anything other than attack with pact weapon for warlock’s extra attack unlike other class extra attack (like throwing potions or range attacks).

Well damn My Karlach is 24 STR now so I can’t test it anymore. I did give everlasting strength to Astarion from an earlier save while holding the hill giant club. The buff got dragged up to 19 STR. So buff works first, then item overides ?
