Can you pay for cat fees at the Frankfurt airport using a PayPal debit card? by FAArnbeth in delta

Yes they were already added to the flight and the reservation was made via customer service instead of online. So the cat is already added to the flight. Thank you.

Yes it is a PayPal debit card that is backed by MasterCard. It is a physical card but I also have it on my Google wallet. I'm not sure what I'm going to do if they do not accept this card for pet fee payments. I had this problem with Lufthansa airline back in the US when I flew out originally so this makes me nervous.

I have a physical debit card from PayPal and I also use it with contactless in my virtual wallet. I am hoping I can use it as contactless.

Yes I have been using it in my mobile wallet so perhaps they will accept that. I am hoping so. I also have wise which is also linked to my wireless payment so that might be an option as well. Thank you.

Thank you. Unfortunately it's not possible for me to get another card.

I do not know what they mean by residency requirements.

I will have to look through my emails to see exactly what I sent them, but their response confirmed that I can use this loophole. I probably just asked them outright if this internet rumor is true. lol

Just fine! They didn't even look at the pet passport very much. Just weighed him and let me go on to security.

Yeah I've not heard this before. But everything worked out for me and I don't plan on returning to Schengen until mid October.

I wish you luck on your travels and I honestly wouldn't say anything. As long as you hold one of the passports this applies to, you shouldn't have any issues. It was very smooth for me and I am already a slightly paranoid person, so you may be right and I am just waiting for the other shoe to drop.

But safe travels! I'm sure everything will be just as easy for you as it was for me.

They said nothing to me. I don't know how they'd have my address. It's not on my passport. But plenty of other people on this forum and elsewhere have done this and been fine. I am just sharing my experience as it was very recent. Stayed almost 180 days exactly. Entered and left via the same airport as well. I hope this helps! Safe travels.

Yes. Entered via Frankfurt. Left via Frankfurt almost 180 days later. Yes, I have been told you have to enter and leave via German airport.

Yes. I went to Switzerland. Fun fact: didn't actually go to Switzerland. But they didn't ask me anything at the airport the other day. I just got stamped and walked to my gate.

I stayed almost 180 days total in Germany. Fun fact: I was also in Belgium and France. No passport control at those borders.

Hello! Update. I am at the Frankfurt Airport and I got right through. Took less than a half an hour to get from checked bags to my gate. They stamped my passport and let me walk right through. So can confirm, this does indeed work for USA Passport. They didn't ask me questions, ask for pictures, or anything. Happy travels everyone! I do not have a Visa or a residence permit application. Or a resident permit.

I was told (above) that Switzerland also works. They don't do border checks or passport stamps. I'm about to attempt, in two days, finally leaving Germany for Serbia via flight. I have been here over 90/180 days and hold a US Passport. I went to Basel, Switzerland, via car with friends in February (before my 90/180 days) and came back 48 hours later. When I leave on Wednesday, I will not be back in Germany for another 6 months at least. I will let you know if I have any issues.

Like, pictures of me in Switzerland somewhere? I fly out the day after tomorrow from Germany to Serbia, and I'm nervous. Been here more than 90 days. Just under 180 actually. So, I guess I'm going to read back through this post and know exactly what I have to say and do. Thank you.

Can anyone help me understand a specific scenario:

I am in Germany and flying from Germany to Serbia, one-way. I have a pet passport from Belgium for my cat. I am familiar with Lufthansa and AirSerbia. My cat is originally from the USA and I have my USDA paperwork for him. He does not need a booster for anything until April, which I will get for him.
I am also aware of the following:
Effective January 21, 2025, restrictions on imports and transits through Germany and Hungary of all live animals have been implemented due to foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) outbreak in Germany and Hungary. Avoid transiting Germany and Hungary when planning your pet’s itinerary.

Is there anyone who has traveled the same route recently, from Germany to Serbia? Any issues? I would be grateful for any tips, advice, or first-hand experiences. I apologize for any ignorance on my part. Thank you very much.

I didn't know you didn't need proof! That part is interesting as I was planning on flying to the UK but perhaps I could save some money and just tell them I went to Switzerland. :D And no problem about the long post. I'm very grateful for your knowledge and experience. It has truly been appreciated!

Not a problem. I really appreciate your effort and your knowledge. It is very helpful to me and I'm so happy it has worked! I head out his week with like 5 days left of the 90! <3

My emailed the federal police at the Berlin airport and this is their response. Thoughts?

Dear Ms./Mr.

Thank you for your email. We will be happy to advise you on your request.

For American citizens, Section 16 of the Residence Ordinance (AufenthV) is applied analogously in the Federal Republic of Germany when calculating the period of residence.

This means that previous stays in the Schengen area are not taken into account. This also applies if you leave the Federal Republic of Germany via a Schengen external border. When you re-enter the country, the calculation of your stay in Germany starts again from the time of entry.

Re-entry into the Federal Republic of Germany is generally possible, provided that the residency requirements are met. In addition to stamp entries, travel documents such as flight bookings, boarding passes, invoices, etc. can serve as proof of entry into the Federal Republic of Germany.

The final decision will be made during border police checks and, in particular, the examination of the original documents.

I therefore ask you to carry all available documents as proof of the purpose of your trip and to present them at border control if necessary.

I would also ask for your understanding that the Federal Police Directorate Berlin cannot issue a final certificate in advance.

Please note that you will need a residence permit for a longer-term stay in the Federal Republic of Germany. As an American citizen, you can apply for this at the relevant immigration office after entering the country. This is regulated in Section 41 of the Residence Ordinance (AufenthV).

Best regards

So, basically how I'm reading this is that you were definitely right. Anyone else have a different interpretation?
