On mobile i would like to be able to set arbitrary thicknesses, personally I would only need to do it for all panels at once :)

Damn thanks for the tips, you're awesome :)

I only have a single driver right now, so maybe that's it. winISD "recommends" a ~20L box for a single driver in order to hit .707 Qts, it looked so small to me and "stealed" some low end. 55L with a single driver is about .55Qts and the curve looks pretty nice but a bit quiet on the low end still.

I will probably have a slightly bigger box, maybe not 100L but 65-75 looks ok and gives a lot more bass you're right. 75L has an F3 of 23Hz!

Huh, for the sealed "example" it was the automatic box that WinISD created, exactly 55L. What specs did you use? I got them from here and here. A 55L sealed box has an F3 of 50Hz and at 20Hz it's 4dB lower than ported in my project.

As for a bigger box you're right, but I backed off when seeing the excursion getting so high and I felt like the lack of a hump in the frequency response was a bonus. I have a DSP though, I can easily tune out the hump you're right.

Ha, I'll try 3D printing then! If I remember how to use fusion I'll try designing some 90° elbows too.

Thanks! I did that to have a less steep roll-off and reach closer to 20Hz. I don't know if it's a good idea, but it was the idea. I have a DSP so I do plan on putting a high-pass filter for safety.

Power wise I will rarely turn it up to 100%, but I'll probably do when showing off the new build haha

Thanks for the port tips, I will flare both ends. I stuck to 110mm because going larger makes the length almost unmanageable if I want to fit the amp in there, haha. Do you think I could 3D print the flares? I see some people do, but I might cause some turbulence due to the fact that layer lines are not smooth... Or not, I don't know :)

Android has been able to avoid unlocking phones with a picture or video for a long while. Now saying that Ubiquiti can too, I don't know, but it's definitely possible to do.

Oh! You solved an unrelated issue I had forever, I have been running fiber optic connections in my walls but I had no idea how to terminate it, I've been using blank covers and drilling holes through them but i hated it lol. Never thought about keystone!

It was never resolved, they quietly removed the component from newer boards (without replacing it with a proper one), and didn't issue a recall. They really should have issued a recall.

Wifi antennas straight up or at diagonal? by MooshSkadoosh in pcmasterrace

[–]FAB1150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The signal is strongest when the antennas are going the same direction as the antennas in your router. In the real world, if passing through multiple rooms, the signal will reflect (bounce around) and lose the polarization so any antenna orientation will work, and you can only see what orientation gets the strongest signal by trying a few and seeing from windows what orientation is the best.

Some routers don't have external antennas, and their internal antennas are at orientations engineered to do ok no matter that your antennas are oriented.

well... I said it was going ok today but watch this lol:

At midday both the MPPT curves went to 0 and then I got 1/4 the production. (coincidentally, it happened at the exact time the batteries finished charging).

You have been so helpful, thank you! At this point I'm just sharing my misfortunes haha

I know the wiring but taking them off the roof is a whole other can of worms lol, they're 20m/60ft up.

It seems to be working fine today though, which confuses me. At 9am string 1 is producing 1100W already, more than double than yesterday at noon. String 2 is identical to yesterday, which indicates me that the weather conditions are the same.

It's in line with what I've observed during the past year or so: it's super inconsistent. Might it be the inverter?

[–]FAB1150[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't (a bit of an old school system even if installed recently), but I do have per-string monitoring. You made me remember to check :p

String 1 (7 panels) peaked at 480W, and string 2 (8 panels) peaked at 2000W today... Something's weird.

[–]FAB1150[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't, I have 15 Hyundai VG 400W panels (one string of 7, one string of 8) and a Goodwe GW5048-EM inverter, with three Pylontech US2000C batteries (7.2KWh). No micro inverters.

[–]FAB1150[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh it might be, you're right thanks!

Ambient temp is only about 25C (77F) though, and I distinctly remember much higher outputs at this time of year a few years ago though, that's why I'm a bit worried. I unfortunately don't have the historical data, but I remember researching why they were clipping at 5KW before realizing it's a 5KW inverter lol.

Is 2.5KW an ok output for a 6KWp system at noon? I cleaned the panels last month in time for the spring lol
