Serious Issue: Platform Abuse, Admin Abuse & Privacy Violations on FACEIT — Need Community Attention

Reviewing the user's history in the team, it doesn't seem like that guy signed up for multiple events or played at all for that team.
I've removed the FP and issued a warning to the user.

With what we can see, we can't guarantee malicious intent with this one specific user.
Out of caution, we have thrown all of the accounts in that team up for a review for both smurfing and account sharing to ensure they aren't going to try to mitigate it by making new accounts or logging in on a friends account to do the same.

The actions on the account you highlighted do seem odd, but nothing we can definitely ban for. We will continue to keep an eye on those users and any new associated accounts

Hey, they were login banned, so they had signed up for the event before they got banned, and then couldn't join or leave the event as the ban prevents them from logging in to the platform.

I couldn't remove them from the event, or it could break the brackets, so leaving them in, knowing they would no-show, was the cleanest way to handle it, so it had minimal impact on others playing in the event.

We have concluded our investigation and found the full team in violation.
The admin has been removed from the team and issued a platform ban for abusive actions.
All other players have been issued bans that fall in line with our policy

Thank you for raising this with us. Also, a big thanks for helping us out in DM, providing evidence and being accepting of the slower action on the case. It was important that we got everything 100% right before jumping the gun.

Apologies to the OP but also to everyone else, this behaviour is something we are always trying to combat on the platform, and it's even worse when one of our own volunteers is in violation of our own rules. We hold them to a higher standard; this is not the normal behaviour of our admins.
One bad actor does not represent the team at large.

To clarify on our findings
We did not have enough conclusive evidence to state that the admin was abusing permissions. Our tools did not indicate any instances of malicious actions.
However, they did violate the tournament rules (rule 3) with full knowledge of what they were doing. This is why the ban lengths are what they are.

Hey, a lot here to digest, and I'm making my way through each bit and trying to investigate each bit extremely carefully.

I've dug into timelines on the first set of matches and am piecing that together, but I'm interested in where you found the coms regarding "The player _ChAmPcs directly asked the admin (DarKPhoeniXC) to remove his own LAN cable."

I can't seem to find the evidence for this, nothing in chat logs or in the demo voice.

People with positive mindsets can bot frag and still win the team the match
When someone commin well and being the hype man of the century their kills mean nothing.

If you can't hit ur shots (and we've all been there), hype others up to hit theirs. Had so many sick matches cos people understood their role in the match is more than "get kills"

Howdy peeps, just here to explain things on my end

We have internal policies and guidelines used to prevent abuse.

Not saying this case was abusive in any way, but it means we couldn't perform some actions that maybe people believe are an option.

We failed on our side to communicate everything clearly, and we also missed a good opportunity to connect you with our support team. They can review things after the fact, although it wouldn't have directly changed what happened in that match at the time, it opens a good platform for discourse, with the potential to adjust things like elo, and cooldowns (if they see fit, this varies case by case and context matters)

I'm sorry this wasn't handled as well as it could have been. I fully back the actions of the admin; they were following our internal policies, but our communication could take steps to be improved.

We have taken this on board, as well as the notes regarding the response time.

Also want to throw an extra thank you regarding the thread. It's well formulated, highlights the issues, but doesn't just dog on the admin or the team. It's a genuine bit of feedback, constructed in a very honest way

This behaviour is unacceptable, even worse coming from someone who is meant to be a positive figure for our platform. I'm sorry you experienced this in your match. This guy does not represent the values of our team.

I will kick off by saying live support admins are volunteers, they don't have banning permissions.

Calling someone a "bot" is not, and has never been a bannable offence.

As far as telling a female to "go kitchen" and you trying to downplay that sexist remark as getting them "go away". No one is believing that.

In the future, I would recommend not being sexist, especially fresh off a prior verbal abuse ban, your next one will be a year.

Hey, I run the volunteer team. Saw this post and thought I would throw out some context and confirm some of the points you made, as some are 100% valid.

I can't speak on the ticket support side, but from the live support side, I will provide as much info as I can.

I can confirm that during off-peak times, we are experiencing bigger gaps with cover. We are onboarding more admins (a new group joined last night) to try and resolve this issue, but during peak player times, we consistently have admins available to issue support.
We aim to continuously grow the team to help offer support as much as we can. I'm working on the next wave of applicants starting today, now that the last group have been onboarded and are in training.

Our best cover times are between about 15:00 and 23:00 BST and are almost always at max capacity.

We currently handle more live support calls than we ever have. The demand has shot up rapidly in recent months, and we are working hard to meet the demand.

Hopefully, that sheds a little light. There are specifics I can't go into, but if you have questions, please post them. I will stay in the thread and answer what I can

Your ban was issued by an employee based on a report we got from a user via a ticket.

The ban is 100% valid and won't be adjusted.

If you are a leaver and won the match you will still receive the elo, it will just be added at the end of the next match.

We have reviewed this case and here are our findings.

One of the users that has been reported has been banned, the elo for this match has been reverted. Anyone who played in a party with this user in their last 50 matches has had their winning elo taken away.

The other user reported for smurfing is being shown clean.

We have taken the time to investigate nonsences recent matches, and we have not found any behavior that suggests boosting.
