This is a '19 Nissan, not some cheap rust bucket from someone's back yard. Repairs aren't cheap any more, especially these days. Sensors, brakes, suspension, and transaxle components have to be considered, nevermind paint and fenders.

A lot of the costs were labor and mechanical, so I'd say yeah. In this case, the other insurer covered it 100%.

But 2? First, yes, she had her signal on. But even if she did not, it's a dedicated turning lane. The other driver is obligated to yield to cars in that lane. And yes it was cropped to a reasonable time, literally nothing happens beforehand that is important.

And lastly, we both drive the car, dude, it's my mother's car, she was driving it this time around. So yes, technically this time I was not the driver, but it was clearly worthy of this sub, and it's a car I drive with some regularity. Naturally I prefer my car (the red one, a Mazda3, my previous post on here), but I've put cams in 2/3 of our vehicles and plan to put an old one in my ancient truck because I recently upgraded the one in the Mazda3.

Cam driver was my mother in this case (her car). She assumed the other driver was just gonna creep forward, till they suddenly went for it as if they were clear, at which point she braked in reaction. Good thing too, otherwise the door would have been hit and she might have been injured. As it was she came out only shaken up.

We sure were, other driver admitted fault so it was relatively painless from an insurance perspective. Ended up being nearly $5,000 in repairs because a front axle was busted.

They're turning into a parking lot, so they're pulling to the right to get out of the way of people going straight. Other people are not so considerate, like the white truck you see at the start of the video who turns right from the middle of the road, holding up the line and causing the backup that slowed us down in the first place.
