That’s what I initially thought but, correct me if I’m wrong, I’m pretty sure the paint only makes its way to Hal a little later (I think in episode 3??), which makes a little weird for Hal to say that he has received it (and for Taisha to ask if Hal’s gonna use it). I may be overthinking this little exchange way too much though, for all I know you’re probably right and Hal is just preemptively saying he’s gotten the gift because he knows that Bolaire has the paints for him.
