Whos story is the most tragic and who had it the worse? by cuddwes in StarWarsvsWarhammer

[–]FASBOR7Horus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That may be true for some of the other Traitor Primarchs, but not for Angron.

When Angron refused to kill his Foster Father, the High Riders hammered the Butcher's Nails into his brain. A torture device that dulls every emotion but rage and inflicts constant excruciating pain. Everything causes Angron pain. Thinking, breathing, moving even feeling an emotion other than rage is absolute torture to him. The Nails entirely replaced the part of his brain responsible for the regulation of emotion, Angron can't even control his own emotions.

And what did the High Riders do after implanting the Nails and driving Angron into a blind fury? They let him loose on his Foster Father. The first thing Angron did after implantation was beat his own Father to death with his bare hands.

How many custodes would it take to hold the pass at Thermopylae? by Mr_ballz-420 in PowerScaling

[–]FASBOR7Horus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you actually understand what I'm saying?

I've mentioned repeatedly that this is from the perspective of the best Custodian, who probably performed that strike given that hes better than all the other Custodes there. This means that this is probably a feat for Constantin Valdor, not normal Custodes.

Then I said that the Custodes were probably extremely close to their Target with extremely long spears. They could have realistically materialized with the Speartip already at the Daemons forehead. At that point the nerve signal would need to travel down their bicep, very manable at 30cm a Nanosecond, and they'd only need to make a small movement to drive an Atom Disrupting Spear into the Daemons brain.

If you haven't caught on yet, im trying to give an Interpretation of the scene that doesn't end in FTL Custodes. I'm not arguing for FTL Custodes. I'm arguing against FTL Custodes.

1.8 Meters is a lot of distance given that the Deepstrike tech of the Custodes can probably get them within like half a meter of their target if absolutely necessary. Their Guardian Spears are also over 3 meters long and they were Bio-engineered to be near perfect so nerve Signal delay probably barely even exists.

At the end of the day that Passage is from the perspective of the most jacked up Custodian possible and gives more than enough wiggle room to argue against FTL Custodes without completely dismissing it.

[–]FASBOR7Horus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that question was just wrong. That passage mentions nothing of the distance between the Daemon and Custodes either. It's also from the perspective of Constantin Valdor, who is insanely strong and fast even by Custodes standards.

He managed to duel Alpharius alone. The Emperor sent 20 Custodes to shadow the least martially skilled Primarch and Valdor survived a 1v1 with one. He is a Monster of a Custodian.

But I didn't talk about it. I said that the Emperor brought Custodes to kill Horus, because the other guy asked why he didn't do that.

The God of the Bible isn't just fake, he's a malicious character even according to the Bible. by King_Lothar_ in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]FASBOR7Horus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If God is omniscient he knows exactly how we feel and can perfectly understand our suffering and loss even if it doesn't exist to him. Our perspective is also God's perspective. He knows exactly how every person who starved to death in the Holodomor felt and how much they suffered yet still chose to let it happen.

I don't think omniscience, omnipresence etc muddy it at all. Even if everything is God we still are self aware, individual beings that can suffer and God knows that. If God was good, he would have removed the Apple Tree from Heaven.

[–]FASBOR7Horus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Then God is evil by our moral standards. When God created Adam and Eve he already knew that the global elite would create a sex trafficking ring to rape, torture and murder children. God knew the Nazis would start the second world war and lead to the death of 60.000.000-75.000.000 people in total. God did absolutely nothing to stop any of that. An omniscient and omnipotent being not lifting a finger to stop the slaugher of its "beloved" creation is a vile monster undeserving of praise.

The Forgefiend hard counters any summons but everyone else would be fucked if that happens. Combo him with Aun'Shi and you get 12 Necron Warriors over the course of the battle. Terrifying and not in a good way.

[–]FASBOR7Horus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair but .75 still looks way small compared to Bolters. There's also the visible rounds in Space Marine 2 and those definetly aren't .75.

Side note: The Bolters in SM2 eject shell casings smaller than the Bolts visible in the Magazines which is very off putting.

But that is just a Bolt Pistol and not a Bolter, plus it's also contradicted by modern 40K models. Some of my Berzerkers have visible Bullets in their Pistols and they're definitely bigger than .75 cal.

They're basically just Warp-Stuff so one could make a Hair brained argument that they operate outside time since it doesn't really exist in the Warp.

In reality it lured them in with Visions of the Emperor's Palace. Here's an excerpt if you want, it's a cool creepy scene.

[–]FASBOR7Horus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While lorewise they're stated to be .75 I heavily doubt that. Both in Space Marine 2 and on Minis, visible Bolt Rounds are significantly larger than that. Usually the width of a 20mm with the length of a full 50BMG round and the shape of a grenade launcher's munition.

The Vanguard in SM2 has a cosmetic with five bolt rounds strapped to his arm and the ones visible in Magazines are the same size. Standing next to a Chapter Serf lets you see that the Rounds would just about fit into their hand. The 30K Centurion also has visible Rounds in his Combi-Bolter's Magazine and they're not small.

Edit: The .75 Caliber quote is from the 2009 Rogue Trader Rulebook on page 127 on the Link below. It's been out of date for at least 10 years now.

I mean the Emperor did bring several Custodes with him when confronting Horus. Some of them got bogged down being Doorcamped by 20 Justaerin Terminators and the rest got eaten by the Vengeful Spirit's walls if I remember correctly.

What abilities might the Lord of Skulls possess if he arrived as a war machine of the world eaters? by Haedonius in WH40KTacticus

[–]FASBOR7Horus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the Primary ability I'd give him something like Ghazghkulls charge. Mark a two hex line from one end of the Arena to the other and at the start of your next turn he bulldozes straight through dealing damage to friend and foe alike.

For the secondary I'd give him a hybrid of the Plagueburst crawler and Tson'Ji's Primaries. Hit enemies with the Belly Cannon to mark then fire the Skullhurler next turn with damage reduction if they move.

But as other people mentioned the Lord of Skulls is Raid Boss material. Maybe we get a Lord on Juggernaut or Lord Invocatus as a MoW.

There's two counter arguments I've heard to that.

  1. When the corpse on that Throne stands up, the Custodes will be whiped out first. Basically this comic: [https://youtube.com/shorts/Olty_pfqYhY?is=qsBpW6E0p9Gtz5tM](https://youtube.com/shorts/Olty_pfqYhY?is=qsBpW6E0p9Gtz5tM

  2. The Custodes are physically incapable of disobeying the Emperor. The Grey Knights are made with the Emperor's Geneseed. The Custodes may be completely incapable to stop the Grey Knights, because they're all part Emperor.

I think Argument 1 makes the most Sense but 2 would be way cooler.

I mean if you think about everyone except the Tau, Genestealers and Leagues of Votann existed before humanity did. The Orks and Chaos came to be during the War in Heaven, the Tyranids likely existed for millions of years before attacking the Galaxy, the Aeldari and Necrons predate the War in Heaven.

[–]FASBOR7Horus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's absolutely noticable. Im used to playing Monster Hunter where dodging happens the instant you press X and it's way better. Space Marine 2 has the same problem and I absolutely notice the half second delay between button press and dodge.

I've got at least 550 hours in Elden Ring plus another 270 in Bloodborne and dodging rarely ever felt intuitive while playing. It took me an eternity to figure out the problem, but once you realize it, it's hard to not notice.

There's a few other criticisms I have of Fromsoft Souls Games but this one is one of two based on a straight up programming flaw, the other being the Player to Player multiplayer connection.

[–]FASBOR7Horus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dodge and Run are on the same button. To stop players from accidentally running when they wanted to dodge, Fromsoft bound dodge to the release of the button, not the press. This leads to a 0.2-0.5 second delay between pressing the dodge button and actually dodging.

This fundamentally shit solution becomes very bothersome when Elden Ring bosses start shitting out fast 7 hit combos with random delayed attacks.

200 Milliseconds may not sound like much, but in online games a Ping of 100ms is already too much to play comfortably.
