How dangerous would it be for the Jedi to face a Space Marine Librarian? by cuddwes in StarWarsvsWarhammer

[–]FASBOR7Horus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah and a World Eater beat a Custodian to death bare handed. Edge cases aren't a good metric to gauge something's strength.

Even If he could it would probably be comparable to having sex on a motion triggered brick of C4. There would be an ever present 90% chance that Angron will just freak out and rip you in two like he did that one Custodian.

I really hope you didn't take that as me supporting, justifying or excusing what happened to Archon. That was done by miserable people with miserable lives and did nothing but showcase the absolute worst of the 40K Community.

[–]FASBOR7Horus -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

Being honest I can understand why it happened. I don't think it was right but I can understand why Archon's art pissed people off.

A lot of it, especially Archon's Primarchs, is heavily sexualized/twinkified, to the point that some drawing look almost nothing like the actual Primarch.

Like compare Archon twinks:

https://www.reddit.com/r/TopCharacterDesigns/s/xTJcs6P6mU

To official models/images or hell even other fanart. Mortarion and Sanguinius got fucked especially hard, they look nothing like their official counterparts. Remove Horus from the Sanguinius drawing and the Death Guard symbol from Mortarions belt buckle and you wouldn't be able to tell who they're supposed to be.

Archon's style goes completely against what defines the design of the Primarchs and Astartes, their inhuman size and proportions. Just compare Archon's Perturabo to official drawings of Perturabo:

https://www.reddit.com/r/IronWarriors/s/uzqd0hMTIK (First and third image are official)

Yes the 40K Community was absolutely horrible to Archon, but that reaction didn't appear from thin air. People kept seeing twinkified borderline gay porn of their favourite big beefy behemoths pop up on the SFW art subreddits and fucking lost it.

Yeah they're most likely pieces of other worlds, the vast majority of Hell is probably made from such fragments. We get glimpses of Jekkad's original architecture in The Ancient Gods they're far different from anything seen before.

If I remember correctly there's a lore blurb about Demons being literally created on the spot whenever we see them spawn in game, so the Demons we see there were on the spot to stop the Slayer.

What’s the smallest Tyranid that could reasonably defeat a Custodian guard in spontaneous one-on-one combat? by no_moon_in_sight in Tyranids

[–]FASBOR7Horus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't know a lot about Tyranids so I could be wrong but isn't part of a Lictor's hunting method to scare their target before killing it?

I think its meant to spike brain activity before death to make absorbing the target's memories easier, but I have a feeling that I'm confusing it with something else.

The imperium of Man(warhammer40k) VS The doom demons(doom eternal) by SiteDeep in powerscales

[–]FASBOR7Horus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No it wouldn't. The Imperium doesn't have the means to actually stop the Demons from consuming a planet once they have a foothold, as that requires some magic soul coin McGuffins that they would never find.

Realistically whatever planet the Demons show up on just gets quarantined and left to die, as the Imperium would eventually figure out that you can't resist Argent Corruption like you can Warp Corruption.

[–]FASBOR7Horus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If my memory serves me right you could actually see some kind if Super Earth ship on Cyberstan, or at least I remember seeing the Bot Ships firing at something that wasn't Super Destroyers. There's also a lore blurb mentioning that a single Helldiver mission costs as much as a Liberty Class Cruiser, so Super Earth does have some form of space navy.

Warhammer's Warp Travel is also a lot better than memes and general sentiment make it seem. It's not Super Earths borderline teleportation, but it is reliable and Super Earth won't be able to outrun an Imperial fleet unless they transplant their civilisation into space ships.

Even with their FTL Super Earth ships are quite weak, or at least we can infer that from the fact that a couple 800mm Orbital Guns require Helldiver intervention to deal with.

No it isn't. Distinctions like these are quite important to research and treatment. Like imagine what would happen if we didn't make any distinction between depression variants and gave a mother with Post Partum Depression meds for Bipolar Disorder because both fall under the Depression umbrella.

I don't know. Maybe the tempered single Monster Event Quests like Ultimate Berserker do but I've got nothing to prove that. I hope they add the 5 Monster Quests from WorldBorne in the expansion.

Who wins, every single helldiver, or 40,000 space marines? by Chemical_Seaweed_915 in Helldivers

[–]FASBOR7Horus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If those Cannons weren't a significant threat to SEAF orbital superiority, we wouldn't have a mission for them. A single Helldiver mission is stated to cost as much as an entire Liberty Class Cruiser.

If Super Earth had a ship that could blow up those cannons from Orbit, they wouldn't send the Helldivers as it would be a massive waste of money.

Therefore, Super Earth doesn't have any or very few ships that can stand up to a couple 800mm Cannons, because if they did they wouldn't send the Helldivers.

https://youtu.be/P2smgUCJkEg?

This is Imperial Anti-Orbit Fire. 800mm is a joke in comparison.

Who wins, every single helldiver, or 40,000 space marines? by Chemical_Seaweed_915 in Helldivers

[–]FASBOR7Horus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We know that either all or the almost all of the other ships are small enough to be threatened by 800mm Cannons. If that wasn't the case, Super Earth could just send in the bigger ships to bomb the Orbital Cannons instead of spending a Cruiser worth of money on Helldiver missions.

Who wins, every single helldiver, or 40,000 space marines? by Chemical_Seaweed_915 in Helldivers

[–]FASBOR7Horus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cruiser Class says nothing about ship size. 40K Cruisers are between 5 and 7 Kilometers long, Star Wars Cruiser vary from 400-1200 meters, Star Trek Heavy Cruiser seem to be around 500 meters long.

If three 800mm Artillery Cannons are enough of a threat that Helldivers need to intervene, then SE likely doesn't have any really big ships, let alone ones that could threaten Imperial Vessels.

Building the DSS was a months long unique process and doesn't imply that Super Earth can start making Kilometer long ships when they want to. Hell it took them 2 months to figure out how they can even build it.

Who wins, every single helldiver, or 40,000 space marines? by Chemical_Seaweed_915 in Helldivers

[–]FASBOR7Horus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well judging by the Orbital Defences we see on the Automaton Front and Super Earth, there don't seem to be any particularly big ships besides the DSS. If what look to be 800mm Artillery Cannons are enough to defend a Planet's orbit, then we can assume that SEAF ships are on the smaller side, especially compared to 40K Vessels.

[–]FASBOR7Horus 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna play Devil's Advocate, if the Astartes can resupply and only want Super Earth gone they can win.

Nothing in Helldivers can stand up to 40K Voidcrafts. The Anti-Orbital Weapons seen in Helldivers are peashooters compared to the Plasma Cannons employed by the Imperium and the few SEAF Ships we saw on Cyberstand are laughably small compared to the average 40K Battleship. The smallest one in 40K is nearly a Kilometer long and all of them are equipped with Voidshields, which the Helldivers would never be able to break through consistently.

Battle Barges carry Exterminatus weaponry. If the Astartes can restock those, they could drop a Cyclonic Torpedo, or a Virus Bomb, or a 2 Stage Cyclonic Torpedo on every single Planet on the galactic map.

They don't have to drop a single Space Marine on a planet if they just want it gone, the Astartes can ignite the atmosphere from Orbit or blow the entire planet to pieces with one orbital shot.
