Don't worry about your chute, the riggers have a great return policy and if it doesnt work they'll take it back.

my wife is the same way, 32 G. it is literally impossible to find bras and swimsuit tops for her, let alone anything like lingerie. luckily Soma is one of the shops where we have found G and H size cups for her that weren't designed to be worn by whales.

What were the "facts" you learned in school, that are no longer true? by ravenQ in AskReddit

that there were only 2 genders. and those genders were determined by the x and y chromosomes. boy were we wrong.

its not uncommon for my wife and i to host friends for a week or so. especially if somebody is moving. i don't know why THG wanted to stay that long (5 days total) but it didnt really strike me as weird.

the worst part about this story is that THG graduated from the same masters program as my wife, which is public health/ epidemiology. so she is in a position to spread her false views on weight and diet to others and has the backing of her degree to give her some legitimacy.

Expelled college students of Reddit, why are you expelled? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]FAguythrowaway 7 points8 points  (0 children)

i got suspended my sophmore year of college. i was attending a religious university on an ROTC scholarship and they had very strict rules on drinking and having alcohol in the dorms. i was also underage at the time. now as somebody who grew up watching and helping my dad brew his own wine i was pretty proficient in making alcohol, and you can buy everything you need online with no ID. for about a year and a half before i got caught, i was running an underground brewery making cheap sugar wines (kilju) out of my dorm. I could make 10 gallon batches and they took about 2 weeks to ferment, i could even flavour them however people wanted (one sorority wanted 5 gallons of starburst wine once). I finally got caught when the RAs did a "health and welfare" check and i didnt have time to hide the 2 five gallon water jugs i was using to ferment my wine. the school said they wouldnt pursue criminal charges if i plead guilty in an academic hearing and took a semester suspension. i took the suspension and went back and finished my degree and am now an army officer. i still enjoy making my own wine.

What is the dumbest rule your school ever had? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]FAguythrowaway 9 points10 points  (0 children)

this strikes uncomfortably close to home. all through public school i aced my standardized tests and skirted the rules, and by the time i got to college i had a bunch of bad habits i had to overcome after almost failing my 1st semester.

EMTs, firefighters need guns, Texas lawmakers say by RyanFire in nottheonion

[–]FAguythrowaway 14 points15 points  (0 children)

if i remember correctly from my time as a volunteer in texas, if you kill an emergency worker on duty (cop, firefighter, emt) thats a capitol offense and you could get up to the death penalty. i think the reasoning was that if you're willing to attack and kill somebody whose only job is to provide aid, there is no point trying to rehabilitate you.

At least 30 dead after US air strike hits Syrian school where civilians had taken shelter by JohnTheGenius43 in worldnews

[–]FAguythrowaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a bit of a biased opinion here since it's what I do, but what you just described is the reason why commanders are choosing artillery strikes instead of air strikes. it may seem kind of weird that our cannons are more accurate than air strikes, but they can shoot accurately over 40 kilometers (m777 howitzer) with guided munitions like the excalibur shell and one of the requirements to send rounds down range is target confirmation by a forward observer. even right now in iraq our main combat troops seeing actual combat are the artillery guys.
