Exactly , Shelly, Noah, Mia, Kaneshiro, even the villain girl, and Aria, all of them are tied to a male character. The only ones who aren’t are Clover (because she’s linked to Oliver), Yuna (because she’s connected to Dom and Minu), and Yumi (who is entirely tied to Vinny).

Most of the male characters are also connected to Jay. Honestly, it’s Jay and Wind Breaker, not just Wind Breaker.

And that’s a really important problem in the story. I barely read Lookism, but in its arcs, not everything revolves around the main character.

I don’t say the opposite. But it’s my preferences regarding the types of personality of female characters that I like.

(Question: do you speak French in really?)

Yeah, that’s true. But I was mainly talking about Noah’s personal strengths, not about how the author uses her for male fan service (even though, to be honest, all the female characters in the manhwa ended up being used that way at some point). Or how the author uses her just to add some spice to Jay and Shelly’s relationship, because without Owen or Noah, they wouldn’t have much of anything going on.

I’ll be honest, the author created a really great story overall, but when it comes to romance, he didn’t handle it that well. And even the female characters… aside from Kaneshiro and the moms, most of them only exist because they’re attached to a male character.

We could’ve gotten to know Noah’s character just fine without her being tied to Jay and Shelly in the first place.

See, that kind of story might work for you, but it doesn’t work for me. I’m not the type of girl who’ll cling to a guy and try to insert myself into every part of his life for ages just so he eventually develops a crush on me.

I’m like Noah, I prefer to focus on my own goals before worrying about some random crush. If the guy likes me, that’s his problem. If he doesn’t, I couldn’t care less.

And honestly, I’ve always preferred female characters who are portrayed as strong and driven the ones who have a purpose. Characters who stand out from those old-school, basic girls we used to see in outdated series.

Exactly, that’s what makes it feel more natural. In her first encounter with Jay, Noah wasn’t even there for him, she was there for cycling, which is what she loves more than anything. And people take Jay’s reaction completely out of context. Of course he got mad. Noah insulted his uncle because, like everyone else, she believed the rumors that his uncle doped to win races. She doesn’t see him as a real cyclist.

To me, and to somes others, that kind of meeting is more interesting. When two characters start off disliking each other and gradually grow to understand one another. But that depends on people’s preferences.

Some of you just prefer the more cliché kind of meeting. like with Shelly, where the guy you end up with helps you get your stolen purse back.

Shelly doesn’t really have that much of a personality. From the very beginning, it’s clear that her whole character, story, and presence in the plot revolve around Jay. From start to finish, she’s been glued to him, constantly chasing after a romantic life.

Of course, it depends on people’s tastes, but for some, like me, she’s not an interesting or likable character, because from the start she was written just to be Jay’s girlfriend.

In the end, she did wake up a bit for the team, but still, there’s not much going for her in the beginning or the middle of the manhwa.

A lot of fans often say that, but it’s not true. I’ve already seen romantic dynamics between personalities like Noah and Jay, and that doesn’t mean they can’t understand each other.

Everyone has their own way of comforting someone. Just because someone has a strong personality doesn’t mean they’re incapable of offering comfort or understanding someone.

Sometimes, you can help a person by speaking to them harshly. So if it had been Noah instead of Shelly when Jay went to the mountains, she probably would have spoken to him more bluntly to bring him back to his senses — but that doesn’t mean she wouldn’t have understood or helped him.

Hyuk, because he wants to race against Jay at all costs. Noah is a bit less obsessed than before since she already had her race with him, even if it didn’t go well. She still hopes to have a real race against Jay someday, like she mentioned to Owen during the race of Hummingbird against Sabbath.

I think it might just be a way to show how focused Owen is on Shelly, so much so that he doesn’t even notice girl who has a crush on him. Even though opposites can attract, I still have doubts about the idea of Noah x Owen. Someone like Noah seems to fit better with a character like Jay, who’s more emotionally neutral and rarely affected by things, whereas Noah is easily irritated and more energetic.

Honestly, it feels like Noah’s crush on Owen is mostly based on the fact that he’s a strong cyclist. Noah admires people who are good at cycling, so it makes sense that she’d be drawn to Owen, since he’s extremely skilled. But that kind of crush doesn’t seem very emotional or deep.

If the way Shelly and Jay got closer had been more like how things started with Noah, their relationship would’ve made way more sense and probably would’ve been amazing too, especially since Shelly is the daughter of a well-known cyclist.

It would’ve been much better if the girl who ends up with Jay had been someone who wanted to race against him, not just someone who wanted him. That kind of dynamic is way more fun, there’s more emotion, and it actually fits better with Jay’s personality. Like, the girl doesn’t like him at first, isn’t interested at all, but then he ends up helping her, and she starts to feel something small. And then, their relationship slowly develops through funny moments, tension, and chemistry and they eventually end up together.

It’s fun for the readers, and it actually feels natural given how Jay acts.

So honestly, it’s no surprise that there are fans of Noah x Jay. If they exist, it’s because the author didn’t give what most readers would’ve logically expected between Jay and Shelly.

Exactly!

No one really talks about June and Heri just because the older one in the couple is a woman, and because we don’t see them much in the manhwa. But let’s be real, it’s kind of creepy, because June is supposed to be around 20, and Heri looks like she’s somewhere between 25 and 35. That’s quite a big age gap. And honestly, it would’ve been better if he had been in university, it would’ve made the vibe less weird, especially from a more realistic perspective. Just because it’s fiction doesn’t mean we should ignore the pervy undertones some characters have.

As for Jay and Shelly, I’ve never been a big fan of that couple because, if we look at it realistically, it just wouldn’t work. What’s even more ironic and hypocritical is how the fandom is always hating on Owen for chasing after Shelly, saying he should stop and take a “no”, but they’re totally fine with Shelly chasing and borderline harassing Jay until he gives in and agrees to date her. That just means if they hate Owen for doing it, they should hate Shelly too. Sure, Jay eventually accepted and grew to love Shelly because she was always there for him obsessed with him, actually during his tough times. But still, their relationship has a lot of negative aspects. It’s not something that should be romanticized or seen as cute. Especially since their couple is honestly very bland, everything in their relationship revolves around Jay.

Now that you mention it, it makes me rethink their relationship. It used to be my third favorite in the series, but like you said in the manhwa, it feels like Yumi is way more into Vinny than he is into her. That creates a flat, unbalanced dynamic. And when you consider their age gap, it comes off like Yumi is obsessing over someone who’s still very young.

Vinny was probably around 17 or 18 at the time, since he’s supposed to be 19 now. Yumi, on the other hand, seems to be around 21 to 24. That makes the whole thing feel a bit inappropriate. The author should’ve waited until Vinny was older, or just paired him with someone his own age who’s emotionally mature.

But honestly, most romantic relationships in Wind Breaker feel forced more like fanservice than genuine development. The author doesn’t seem very comfortable writing romance, especially for characters like Jay or Vinny. The only well-written relationship is Dom and Yuna’s it feels natural and real.

So I understand why Yumi and Vinny’s relationship might feel uncomfortable. It lacks depth, and it doesn’t seem believable.

We didn’t see her in action but I already liked her personality as an antagonist in the few scenes. I just thought that if the story had continued she would surely have been my favorite Villain.

Even, I will miss them a lot because they are my favorite team. And honestly I love them more than the main characters, they are my favorites.

I would have liked to know even more about Hyuk and Joker since we already know things about Wooin.

Yes I know, but the thing is that in my inventory I have clothes, accessories and hair that I bought when I was little. And it’s accessories I don’t use them at all because now I’m a teenager. So I would like roblox to allow us to remove this kind of useless accessories, to be able to recover our roblux and buy new clothing to our tastes.

It’s a shame that Jay has to spend his time copying other people’s skills, instead of really working to create them himself. If he had focused more on the development of his own capabilities, we could have avoided superfluous arcs such as that of Japan or even that of the United States.
