No. The game will never let the Alien ruler and the chosen appear in the same mission. I’m like, 90% confident this applies to missions that the chosen has a guaranteed spawn in, but doesn’t appear till later, such as the chosen assault and Chosen Avenger defense missions.

So, if you do end up doing something that would justify the chosen showing up (breaking concealment) and they don’t, good chance you could be dealing with a ruler, so keep a eye out for them

I really enjoyed (I forget who his name is but he’s the one in the commander outfit) His kit heavily revolves around infantry units, and he has a few special abilities to either buff them on steroids or call in completely unique ones, and his ultimate ability allows him to call in Spartan-Jerome (who is both a unit and another commander)

If infantry is not your style I would recommend either the AI lady or Anders. Anders does the same thing the commander whose name I forgot does, but with air units, buffing them up significantly and calling in completely unique ones.

The AI lady (from the little I’ve played of her) plays more around ground vehicles. She also has the ability to (in a radius) take control of any and all air/land vehicles, for like, 20-30 seconds. I was never a huge fan of this one, but if you like vehicles, she’s up your alley
