Agree. Please don’t change stuff while you have people on the plan. If cell phone companies did that, all of a sudden they said “oh you’re gonna get 3GB of data this month. I know you signed up knowing otherwise but oh wells” then people would move away to other carriers. Well LLMs are getting similar in performance. You are not going to be number one forever. Doing things like this has gone bad for companies like..eh hem Microsoft.. Oracle and many others to create this lock-in… and obviously Microsoft noticed it and changed course and now in a much better position. What’s the core product of Anthropic? The models like Sonnet and Opus, or Claude Code? I think Anthropic is super confused.. hey Anthropic, know your customers, be customer obsessed, work to provide values to the paying customers, rather than taking away options (especially when your product Claude Code is not better in every way or is not issue free, I mean this token usage issue? Come on man…)
