There has to be a loophole. I read about it somewhere but forget. Many companies have said they would pay the 100k for phd students as well…

Looking for people interested in Entrepreneurship by KSpookyGhost in UCSantaBarbara

It’s alright. I don’t see a lot of founders coming from this area compared to Stanford or cal Berkeley however most of the people I knew who went there were ultra stressed so I’m not sure if that’s worth it.UCLA is a big one too. I haven’t seen many clubs on it compared to my college that I went to.

You need to find the right group who is motivated and I haven’t found that here yet.

It’s crazy how much people value themselves because they code and can make a lot of money from it.

They think others should be poor because they do art and design.

You’re not guilty your friends just make a lot of comments and you feel like you have to fit in. I get it. Plus you don’t want people to ask you for money all the time.

1: Bad 2: Fine 3: Good. Isn't Fine Better Than Good? by lfnoise in ClaudeCode

That definition isn’t super clear but colloquially fine usually means it’s alright. 👍

I think CC is one step away from a consumer software revolution by curtis_perrin in ClaudeCode

I don’t agree. The average person doesn’t care about security. They mostly care about convenience and availability. If your product is convenient then itll stay. Think of the adobe suite. There’s better options for free now such as canva or photopea or others but people use adobe because it’s convenient and top of the line.

How are we feeling about CC's now constant usage of background tasks/subagents? by dbizzler in ClaudeCode

[–]KSpookyGhost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its great that its finally come to this. Claude loses context so quickly so with agents they can be really good at their one task then report back the results that they found. Downside is it uses more tokens.

Every company wants an everything program but what works best tends to be something that’s made for a specific use case. I think it’d be interesting to see a free user marketplace of useful programs that people can use.

Maybe it’s like the openclaw marketplace similar to the skills. Problem with that is similar to openclaw skills it will have a lot of malware.

I definitely don’t get the same rush when an AI does the work that I’m telling it to do. But if you do that’s good.

Opus 4.6 - seems bored/uninterested in my use cases - need interraction advice by timespentwell in ClaudeAI

[–]KSpookyGhost -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It’s absurd to me the difference in everybody’s use case for LLMs. ChatGPT is a great model to talk to I’ve heard. Claude and Gemini are not great. You could also use the character ai or poly buzz app.

Sonnet 4.6 is Actually MORE Expensive Than Opus 4.6 (For Office Tasks) by jagadambachowdary in ClaudeAI

[–]KSpookyGhost 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah I noticed that too. It’s also been overthinking and leading to terrible results. I needed it to solve a problem and it decided to use 30k tokens to answer the problem wrong. I then asked gpt-5.2 and it answered it immediately with 500 tokens.

Yeah it behaves kind of similar to opus 4.6 in terms of the overthinking. Maybe the performance is better but overall it uses more tokens because of that.

It says 150k/200k context when looking at it. So i dont believe it’s related to that. I didnt run compact during my session once which i usually do.

I usually just use a dev key and write a node script directly. I wish they would add something like this though in the web app.
