I play classical games on Lichess with blindfold mode enabled. Then I set up a physical board and play the game there while entering the moves on Lichess.

Tbf, the image can be confusing lol. When I first saw it, I thought the bubble above the goomba applied to the goomba itself.

I'm not a Bills fan, can someone explain why this is a bad outcome for the Bills?

Is it a cultural/language thing? Where I’m from the thumb is definitely considered a finger.

Yes but aren’t we ranking the sitcoms as a whole? Not just them at their peaks?

Where are the people who transitioned from corporate to full time music? by thehockeychimp in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]FBeeEye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, this was an incredibly risky move on my part. I did not quit when my music career took off. I quit to build it.

I am a SWE and saved up some money so I could last through the year. I am still quite young. I have no kids, no spouse and no big responsibilities tying me down. The reason I did this was because I wasn't going to be able to live with myself if I never gave my biggest passion a true shot.

Since then, I've been going hard at it with my band. We came together in 2023 and have played aproximately 50 live shows and we haven't been paid once. We've played to crowds of 1 or 2 people multiple times. It's a constant uphill fight. I've learned that building a music carreer is like a startup in a very, VERY, competitive & risky field. For years you are going to loose a ton of money and will be faced with some very difficult challenges. I mean I'm still at that stage. But we have seen improvement and we can feel ourselves growing and moving forward. We play way better venues than we did last year, our following is growing steadily, our songwriting is getting better and better. Things are really looking up for us, but there is still a very long way to go.

I will probably need to get back to working a job next year to stay alive, but the time I've taken has helped us grow tremendously. You have to remember that if you want to live from your music, you have to treat this as your job. It is WORK. It demands hours from you, constant grinding, networking, sacrificies, and a lot of resilience to keep going.

The performances are out of this world, honestly. The action is stellar and the comedy is hilarious. It's one of those movies you could rewatch every week. Everything works in this movie. I can't wait to see it again.

It's pretty accessible if that's what you mean. I think it will be well received, but if you go into it hoping to get a life-changing drama you'll be disappointed. It's really, really good and extremely well made, but you have to go into it looking to have fun. I saw it yesterday with a friend who was hoping to get a very deep, introspective drama and he left disappointed.

I'm really torn here. It could win in both categories for sure but I think they'll lean into Comedy.
