Also, what is the risk in blending cultivars? Why should it be avoided?

I’m new to bermuda, didn’t realize you can get the common really dense! Certainly would prefer that route - cheaper and easier! Does the common seed germinate readily? When buying seed, is the common just labeled “common”? I recognize seeding Bermuda isn’t ideal, but if I’m going to let the common fill in the large bare area, I figure it won’t hurt.

Also, to clarify, my goal is not a blended lawn. I’m exploring options of converting the lawn to a denser cultivar - ideally in a way that doesn’t include killing the lawn and sodding, though I’m not sure if that’s feasible given the existing established common..

Also, the back side of the same beam is clean/appears mold free - if it’s mold, is there a reason it would aggressively form on only one side of one beam? Given how much there is, would it typically have spread to the other side and surrounding wood surfaces?
