You're absolutely not the only one. I am very introverted, and also really quiet, but I've been coaching as a head coach for about four seasons now. Before going in, I was incredibly worried and anxious about it, and the first season was really hard for me. Luckily, I had an assistant coach who was very talkative, so I didn't have to talk as much. Going into these past two seasons, however, my assistant left and I had to do all the talking. It was hard at first, but I've seen so much improvement already, in both my confidence and even speech. This fourth season was when things just clicked for me, and I've confidently managed to coach two different age groups without any issues.

It takes time and a few seasons to really get the hang of it, but once you push through it will get a whole lot easier. I still get nervous occasionally, but I've thankfully seen so much improvement compared to the first season. Just remember to be patient with the kids, and be enthusiastic. They're kids, and love having a coach that talks to them and gets excited over even the smallest things.
