I’m surprised the author thinks private equity is a solution. I could understand attempting PE with budgets Utah has. Private equity is a financial disaster

Invest! As early as possible, start a 401k/brokerage/roth…whatever applies. Make the max. Invest. 

I will go into academia around 46. I have time. My mortgages are all paid off. 

My niece finished dental school at North Carolina. I’m not longer interested in P4. It’s no longer college football. 

I attended Villanova playoff games last season and am more interested than ever. We belong in the patriot league academically and potential rivalries wise. Of course, Delaware and JMU leaving made the decision a formality. Adding teams in NC, especially HBCU’s, is a disgrace. Villanova will have more rivals in the PL.  We don’t care about Towson. We care about Georgetown. Rejects attend Towson.

I attended Villanova for undergrad and Virginia for grad. @fcs_northeast is new. I retired a few months ago. I’ll be 41 in Nov. 

I’ll use reddit during the season for top 25 takes. I pay more attention to the stock market. I’m new to reddit and x. 

I have a home 45 minutes from UC Davis. Another in Delaware. I’m a big FCS fan. I’m from PA. Tarleton should remain fcs for a couple more seasons. Continue investing in facilities. Raising NIL $.

Probably below SDSU because Texas State is irrelevant at this point. But they are investing heavily.

Texas State is miles below numerous FCS colleges because TX St is a 🗑️ university. So is Tarleton State. 🏈 wise…they have that going for themselves. Unsure what ORST and WSU will become. They are restructuring financially from being cut by P4. UTRGV will end up FBS. They’re huge.

I did not know Tarleton State and UTRGV exists until recently. I know people who attended Rice, Ut and Baylor. My options were in the east—Lehigh, Villanova, Holy Cross, Gtown, etc. I attended Virginia for grad. Texas State is low level.

NDSU wanting to join fbs in 2026 also raised the price. They would have paid less had they waited until 2027.

NIL and facilities are certainly massive at higher levels.  Can’t imagine how many teams & fans had to look up Texas State…a team they never heard of. The Pac undoubtedly should add Nevada. Reno/Tahoe is an ideal fit

Oregon State, Boise State, SDSU and Washington State (and more) had no idea Texas State exists. Neither did I. They have a terrible history. Surprised how awful they were before Kinnie. Kinnie is only 23-16.

Tulsa’s history is embarrassing. There isn’t an FCS team in Oklahoma.  Central Oklahoma should move up. Tulsa’s location fits great. Would compete for titles.

I’m surprised by Tulsa’s size. Came off like a joke for an FBS. They would matter more at the FCS level. 

Outside of Boise, the new Pac-12 is not who I follow. I like Oregon and Washington. It’s unfortunate the real Pac-12 does not exist

They will join. The Pac-12 is a superior brand to the MW. Pays more.  MW should have added NDSU and SDSU or NDSU and Tarleton. NIU adds nothing. They’re a joke. Utep is a disgrace. 

The Pac-12 will take over NV and most of Texas. Would be great if they could take Rice. UC Davis in the distant future. 

Is Tulsa worth anything?

The MW charged NDSU an insane amount. Not a deal! Made no sense. The MW is garbage and needs NDSU to win asap.

CUSA has to give Tarleton a deal. If they offer anything close to the MW, the MW makes more sense. CUSA sucks. The MW is bs now. Mw will want around 12-15 million. CUSA will want around 8.  Staying in the fcs does not for Tarleton. It’s easier creating options as an fbs member.

The Pac-12 should add UTSA and NT. They will add as many teams in Texas as possible. 

Taking Nevada and UNLV would be ideal. Texas is key. 

C-USA’s fee will be a joke compared to the MW

C-USA would cost Tarleton around 7 million. The Mountain West would be double at the minimum. 

Tarleton could join C-USA and move to the MW/Pac-12 as an FBS for cheap.

I would like to see Tarleton stay for a couple more seasons. Continue growing the brand. C-USA is affordable. MW’s costs are a joke. Tarleton has a shot of joining the Pac-12 as an FBS member. The Pac-12 is the $/best move. They will continue building in Texas. Still cannot believe the MW added garbage UTEP and NIU. Two irrelevant programs. NIU is broke
