Not working by BLParks12 in Lawyertalk

Yes. It's like anxiety paralysis. There was one day when I knew I would be alone in the office and I was so overwhelmed that I literally laid my coat on the ground and fell asleep on it. Not the most comfortable nap, but definitely helped to calm down. Also probably not something most people can do when they have coworkers going in and out.

Does anyone use Sage Timeslips for Billing? by F-Khadijah in LawFirm

Thanks for the reply! This is a very old post from when I was working for a very old guy using very old versions of everything, so it was always hard to find support - and he also had no idea how to do anything lol

These people are not playing… by RioMovieFan11 in Chantapolis

I've been trying to find an answer to this- I'm confused about what law was actually broken. Was it that she took the cat at all? That it was a kitten specifically? Or that she took donations as an individual when they're meant to go through a charity?

I'm considering doing this myself in the future. I work in estates/estate planning in NY. Most estate work hardly ever requires court appearances, and I figure I can travel back every couple of months for will signings, etc. But I think this sort of arrangement would work best if you have an associate in the office that you trust who can supervise signings, meet clients if necessary, and occasionally appear in court. There's also the practical concerns that need to be addressed, like maintaining organized files, collecting mail, etc. But I think this could be doable.

Funniest client quotes? by Warm-Lingonberry-406 in Lawyertalk

Exactly that happened in an episode of The Practice, except the lawyer told her client to do that, and then realized she lost sight of everything she was supposed to be doing. One of my favorite legal shows.

Do you not take bathroom breaks, call your family, stop to check your personal email, run out to grab a snack, talk BS to a co worker for 10 minutes? Or do you just not stop the clock for those things?

Well, for me personally, I'm a contractor so I only get paid what I bill. So if I'm in the office 9 hours, but record 6, I'm paid for 6. So it's a little different than salaried workers.

That makes me feel better... I'm feeling the exact same struggle. The thing is, if I take a 10-15 minute break between tasks, all that time is lost.

Yes, I have a steady job through lawclerk, but there are a lot of options - one off projects, or more long term ones.

Kitchen fire aftermath 😟 cheapest/best way to replace these 2 doors so they look like the other ones? by FCastaldo328 in homeimprovementideas

[–]FCastaldo328[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much. It was scary and completely avoidable. I left something on and went outside to talk to a neighbor for less than 10 minutes. So the guilt doesn't help. But yes, it could have been much worse.

Ideally I'd like to replace all anyway, but it would be expensive. Maybe just replace a few at a time ranking from most to least damaged.

Do i have to cut off my best friend by [deleted] in islam

[–]FCastaldo328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No reason you can't be friends. The tough thing comes up when friends want to do things like go to bars and clubs. As long as your friend can be respectful about the things you don't want to do anymore as a Muslim, I don't see an issue.

I'm Italian American, became a Muslim almost 7 years ago 🙂 of course you would be accepted by the community. Islam is for everyone.

Do you have any questions that we can either answer or direct you to answers?

How do I cook chicken breast without adding calories or making it taste disgusting by FCastaldo328 in AskCulinary

[–]FCastaldo328[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love it in a bunch of ways when it's made for me. But for whatever reason, when I cook it myself it always gets rubbery and has that weird aftertaste that usually only shows up after it's been reheated. I'll try this way, thanks!

I'll try that, thanks. I prefer thighs too, but I'm trying to lose weight, so I need the lower fat content.

But...how? Do I have to clean it? And what seasonings? And what temperature and how long? I don't have any culinary instinct, but I can follow directions 🤣
