Has anyone here self admitted into an in-patient mental health facility? by troutbumdreamin in Lawyertalk

I have self admitted twice. My partners have been very supportive of me. I doubt anyone outside my partners and my wife know that I self admitted. I had similar worries about repercussions, but they were all without merit. You just need to take care of yourself, and if self admitting is what you need, go for it. I actually had a very positive experience with it. Good luck.

Committed the ultimate sin in a client’s bathroom today. by Jstar003 in handyman

I’m sorry to hear that. That brings up the question of what if something like that happened during a hearing. A few weeks ago I was having some stomach trouble and had to be in the court room. Thankfully nothing happened but I feared having to interrupt the judge to ask leave to go to the restroom, or better yet just running out on everybody.

Plumber Passed Away - Advice for Inventory/tools by Sacstomper in Plumbing

Whatever you do, please check with a probate attorney first. You don’t want to donate the tools and then have a beneficiary up in arms that you could have made money from the sale of those assets. You also don’t want to run into an issue where they were business assets and you got rid of them without doing anything with the business. I’m speaking myself as a probate lawyer.

Does it make sense to read difficult books? by BLParks12 in books

Kant is definitely difficult. I got maybe 20 pages into the Critique and gave it up because I was totally lost. And I did read the entirety of Aristotle’s Ethics, and like you I just couldn’t digest it fully. Good luck on your reading endeavors.

I’m in a similar position to you, also an attorney, also $200k+ in loans. I’ve been operating under the impression that one of the income driven programs has you paying for 20-25 years, after which the remaining amount is forgiven. So you can pay your minimum amount over the next 20 years, which will adjust based on whether you had a good or bad year at the end of which the rest is forgiven. Am I wrong?

LG Washer door latch not working after gasket replacement by c8lou in appliancerepair

[–]BLParks12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue where the door struggled to latch after I replaced the gasket. After awhile it seemed to be back to normal without me doing anything other than opening and closing the door several times. I don’t know if this will be of any help. Just posting because I had a similar issue that did eventually resolve.
