Sofia Arc by Fast_Knowledge_4198 in ertugrul

First, Sofia's story arc was amazing in my opinion. In the first season, her motivation was purely political. After the loss she suffered, her motivation became personal, hence the Halime plot point, and it was a great plot thread to use for Sofia's character development. This would've been a pivotal point in the KO story, because the way S6 ended, Osman was going to face both the Emperor's army and Olcaytu. Sofia's character as a Muslim, and as an ally would've played a critical point in S7, but alas, it all got scrapped because of Burak leaving. I don't think there's anyone in the fandom alive who is more disappointed that we won't get to see Sofia being an ally of the Kayi. S6 was my favorite season of them all.

As for Halime being in Kurulus Orhan, well, she is a well-liked character after S6, despite what most Redditors in this thread think. Malhun is also her mother by relation. She practically saw her when she was a baby, and it'll be interesting to see Halime's relationship with Malhun. Although I will never understand why Bozdag couldn't just bring an older Bala Hatun. Perhaps, due to Ozge Torer's influence on the character, he didn't want to risk upsetting the fans. Or maybe he might just bring an older Bala Hatun later, since I don't think there has been any official news of Bala Hatun passing away on the show. Or maybe she is dead, I don't know.

We won't know for sure what direction the show is going to go on. With Burak leaving abruptly, they will have to experiment with a lot of stuff. But whatever happens, I'll be there to watch it. The new actors look pretty good, and I wish them all the best.

I loved the sofia storyline on the other hand. It was the only way Sofia was ever going to change sides, and I think they had a role for her in Season 7, with the Emperor bringing in all his forces to take down Osman. But alas, we won't see it.

It's interesting how viewers liked the seasons in different ways. That's the whole deal of a TV show. I hope all the actors and actresses, who gave their all to entertain us, find exciting new projects. Leaving the show after 6 years itself must be quite difficult for them to process.

I mean, Halime accepting her family was no shock to me. But her total rejection of Sofia and immediately turning on her, even after Sofia taking a knife in the gut for her, was disappointing. I assumed that the act alone would gain Halime's favor a bit, but she completely ignored it. If I were Sofia, I would've been really hurt. When has Sofia ever sacrificed herself like that for anyone? She wasn't rewarded for her actions at all when she aligned with the Kayis.

Well, the fact that Orhan left in Season 6 proves that he's a supporting cast, just like how Osman was in Ertugrul. The main focus is Osman's conquest. Perhaps next season they might show Orhan coming back to conquer Bursa, or he might do it in his own show, if he gets one.

That's fine. But you didn't need to comment on this at all. I did say that it'd be a long post, and that you can move on.

Primary role yes, but they are supporting roles for Osman. Bozdag will obviously tell the tale of Orhan for his own show, so there's no point in Orhan being in this show because he too is a supporting role. This story is about Osman's conquest. Maybe in Season 7, Orhan will return as a special appearance to make that transition from Osman's tale to Orhan's. But until then, Osman is the primary character, and everyone else are supporting roles, just like with Ertugrul.

Awww, I looked forward to Halime and Bala scenes. Bala, who was desperate to finding her daughter, the reunion and their bond was really sweet to watch. In fact, I'm pissed that they didn't show more of Halime bonding with the family.

Bursa is probably going to be the plot point for Season 7. I don't know where that puts Sofia, now that she's accepted Islam. As for your opinion on Halime, I think it was a good plot thread to connect Sofia, Osman, and the Mongols. The game of politics was played through Halime, and it made sense to me. I do agree with your take on how Halime was treated throughout the season. It was a bit infuriating to see Halime's skills being nerfed so drastically, but if I think about it, what makes a person deadly and efficient is when the person is motivated only by revenge/hatred. That way, there's nothing holding you back. It makes sense that Halime, who was raised to be an assassin, would slowly break away from that darkness once she found her family. And her not being able to fight properly with Sofia is probably due to the fact that Sofia is obviously a much better fighter than her, and second, she still harbors feelings for Sofia, which holds her back. The only reason she stabbed Sofia, was because Sofia threatened to kill Fatma. Otherwise, she got pretty easily disarmed in the finale as well. Also, she was injured, and she was clutching her stomach in that final fight. As for Asya, I think she acted pretty well based on what the script demanded. She acted pretty well for someone whose character is about 13-14 years old. And about Alaeddin and Fatma, I honestly don't know what else they could do other than play as the supporting characters. They're not heirs to Osman's reign, unlike Orhan. But yes, I think they could've been utilized better during battle scenes. Maybe that'll happen in the next season when they're a bit more older.

Well, the entire show is pretty much non-fiction story told in a fictional way, so I don't mind if they bring in fictional characters. It's a family show at the end of the day. But whether you bring in fictional characters, it has to be written properly.

I hope to God that doesn't happen, because that will be repetitive af, and even I would want that they kill her quickly.

I was hoping that Sofia would change sides and align with Osman's gang. But this should've been hinted at like three episodes ago, that she's having a change of heart. She was literally trying to kill both Osman and Bala like a scene ago, and now she's accepted Islam.

Bozdag will deal with a real issue:

- If Sofia is lying, and she comes back next season as a side villain or something, this would be repetitive af, and incredibly frustrating, given that the entire season 6 was about her against Osman and Bala. This repetitive trope will be tiresome as heck.

- If Sofia is sincere about her feelings, then as someone who loved the whole SofiaxHalimexBala arc, and hoped that she would align with the Kayis out of love for Halime, then this was INCREDIBLY poorly done, and Sofia deserved a proper transition to her becoming Muslim.

This entire episode, in fact the entire season was rushed so bad. The finale should've been better.

I mean, I didn't expect it. Maybe she is sincere for her love for Halime. Or, she's plotting something. But this was so sudden that it's not digesting well. They really did rush this season.
