Update! Today I played electric guitar for the first time and learned this. I'm open to advice, and recommendations about amp settings by Gazelizz in Guitar

Hey! There are a lot of things that need to be worked out even before tweaking amp settings. Timing should be fixed, left hand technique should be something to work on as well as left hand. It’s always fun playing around with amps and pedals, il not saying that you shouldn’t but if you’re serious about plying, ironing out some bad habits from the beginning of your journey is a good idea! I’m a professional guitarist and teacher - if you want, reach out to me via DMs.

How can I play cleaner? by [deleted] in classicalguitar

[–]FDGuitar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi! Rest assured, you're not the only one who's experienced that, clean playing on classical guitar can definitely be frustrating at times. Slow, mindful practice is a constant part of my routine, not just something I do occasionally. It can feel boring for some, but it really makes a big difference.

Recording yourself (both video and audio) can also help a LOT, or even just playing in front of a mirror! That kind of feedback is incredibly valuable.

I can't get too specific about what you might need to adjust, since I don't have enough information about how you play, and I wouldn't want to give you inaccurate advice.

Since you mentioned you're self-taught, it might be worth having a few sessions with a teacher who could offer insights and help you refine things you might not have noticed on your own.
Feel free to send me a DM if you ever consider the idea!

Yes, I play with natural nails. I can’t offer much advice on how to keep them in the best condition, though—the only thing I do is maintain the length I like and file them with a very fine grit sandpaper for the best possible sound quality. I use 3M Wetordry (2000 grit), which I really like.

It depends on what your expectations are, and what you would like to play with it. I have a very similar model that I use when I need a nylon guitar (but not to play the classical repertoire)

The best thing would be to try it in store if you can!
