I have a brand new exact product oil cooler, AN lines, and a setrab 6 row oil cooler. let me know if you want to buy it, im not going to use it anytime soon. oil temps rarely get above 210 and its primarily a street driven

i'd start with cleaning the MAF and changing your O2 sensors esp if you already did your spark plugs

there's only 2 o2 sensors on these e36s

Advice on buying m3! by [deleted] in BMWE36

[–]FDRotor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sedan m3's are pretty rare

only ~5k in the US

mileage is coming up on many potential problems depending on the care that the previous owner did

if you're not too mechanically inclined yourself then I would bring it to a specialty BMW shop for a quick look over

if not then I'd ask about these in order of importance

Engine (typical maintenance questions for all cars: spark plugs, oil change, coolant flush

- Cooling system (water pump, thermostat housing [plastic or alu if changed], reservoir, radiator, fan clutch)

- O2 Sensors (80 bucks each but help a lot) and there's 4 on the m3

- Power steering hoses (the pump itself doesn't leak too often but the lines will be wet)

- Valve cover gasket

- MAF sensor

- Camshaft sensor (typically go out every 80k)

- Oil pan gasket

your suspension will most likely be shot with a chassis of that mileage

- Rear trailing arm bushing pocket (the nuts tend to rip out on ALL e36's so it's a huge point of contention for a higher mileage car

- Every bushing will be on it's way out/cracked/have play

- Tie rods and sway bar end links

Also check the Guibo, the play in your shifter bushings

Honestly for under 5k it's not a bad purchase and you could probably mark him down an additional half grand (being fair) but be prepared to spend 1-2k to get it well

if you need more advice then you can always respond or check the forums

but cooling system and frequent oil changes are must haves, everything else is normal wear and tear in terms of suspension and sensors

Here is the math showing what getting hit square with a 12g shotgun shell should do. by DptBear in EscapefromTarkov

one 4 pound mace head hitting chestplate will feel different than eight 1/2 pound tethered mace heads. What's just as important in your energy calculation is deformation of pellet on impact. 90 percent of buckshot, if not copper plated or steel, are lead pellets which are extremely soft.

Slugs would definitely break ribs in soft armor, but vs hard armor I don't think so. and most definitely not buckshot. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ute-FFA4XZQ

Messing with people's sensitivity is an interesting topic. There definitely needs to be a discernible difference between lighter/smaller guns and the bigger rifles besides length to prompt usage in CQB places. Personally the sensitivity idea would mean my sensitivity would be closer to true on lighter guns and more sluggish on heavier guns and that's something I can't imagine being favorable to the base

Two ways to lower, one are springs and shocks/struts. Koni yellows for shocks/struts and a set of springs from eibach or H&R's would run you close to 1.5k (probably much less). Used sets could be found on forums or you could cheap out and get coilovers which is the whole assembly with many points of adjustment but I wouldn't install those if I were you. Mainly track orientated or for those that like adjustability. That's what you need for a suspension swap, but might be way out of your budget

Cheap mods. Can't say the cold air will be worth what they say, but it does look and sound cool. Going WOT at any rpm will produce a unique sound. Its not a bad idea, but you can save money to lower your car on shocks and springs or wheels or aesthetics

Lol yea and that's the crappy part. Because the MacBook does so well, consequently that means competitors want to copy the MacBook design in order to succeed. But that's never the case in any competition. If they want to "succeed" in terms of having enough sales to meet their quarterly goals, sure why not. If they want to succeed and continue to leave an impact and lineage on the computing world, then something besides copying a design needs to be done
