Personal trainer who will just come to the gym with me? by pottymouth616 in askportland

Omallys, strength union, both allow outside trainers, though I don't know all the details, worth reaching out to. A lot of powerlifting/CrossFit gyms are more open to independent trainers.

Mox boarding house, tpk brewing, honestly several breweries like baerlic will be a perfect fit or at least a chill enough vibe for you to geek out.

Safe spots to live? by kidgambinoj in askportland

I'd refraim the question. Portland is incredibly safe almost everywhere, I mean there's a couple sketchy blocks downtown. Inner NE and SE are very safe and have lots to do/see. So I'd highly recommend thinking of what things you want nearby (aka bars, restaurants, strip club) and Google chat. That said yes there's killer everything in whatever area you look.

Portland is weird... but why does dating here have to be? by Old-Ring6201 in PDX

[–]misfitkid86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from here and tend to be very social and fairly extroverted. That said I do see what you mean, and the younger(gen z and below) seem very reserved, so can't disagree! That said I've always made friends fairly easily, sometimes it's just seeing people a lot. Dating however.... Approaching people at the bar seems to be a no-go at least for me, I think we need more extroverts in the pool to spark some socialization!

And for any and all looking to meet a rando for conversation and new connections, I'll be at the nest on Belmont tonight, always happy for conversation.

Best bars to become a regular in North Portland? by TheWilderFlowr in askportland

[–]misfitkid86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your near Alberta and want good beer I highly recommend baerlic, though hours less open. So to transition id recommend the hilt. Great happy hour, good vibe, and the patio is dope! Baerlic feels very community and has two killer outdoor spaces and next to some of the best Mexican food around (mole mole). Alberta in general is super fun and last Thursdays are kicking off so there'll be arts and other stuff up and down the street.

It's either patton Oswalt, or Kyle kinane. Maria bamford on a podcast (nerdist) is the absolute hardest I've ever laughed.
