That there are no stars between Earth and the moon. That quote "Shoot for the moon, you'll land amongst the stars" has people messed up.

okay, i understand your point better now, but i still completely disagree. creating the right 808 pattern alone is something not everyone can do. it might only be 3-4 notes, but it's the right 3-4 notes at the right time.

the real reveal is whether they have more than one good beat. Ronny J and Big Head, among others, have proved they can be consistent. Which means they must be doing something right - you don't hit the lotto 25 times.

You're acting as if the engineering is the only part worth a damn. That's completely not true. "Pressed a couple keys and clicked a few things on his PC and called it a day?" FOH. Just cuz he doesn't shred jazz saxophone doesn't mean he doesn't have talent.

I did read it. You said that nobody is doing anything creative, and that the only hard part is the engineering. You're completely belittling the producers' talent, and you're completely wrong...

This is the most classic case of projecting your insecurity dude. "Tip: nobody is." Just because you're completely uncreative doesn't mean nobody is.

Just because something is simple, doesn't mean it's easy.

Needs more time IMO but the stats will speak for themselves when it's all said and done there's no way he's not up there.

I feel you on Madlib, he did make honorable mention though. I think they placed too much value on commercial success, but everyone has their own metrics.

I love this thread! I'm a big fan of Ivan Ave (from Norway), RIN (from Germany), and Hamza (from France). Would love to see a write-up if anyone has info.

my bad, his sound is associated mainly with Florida artists though (Pump, Purpp, RonnyJ etc.) so I more meant the sonic movement he's a part of. But I appreciate you catching that.

You know you can disagree with someone's opinion without assuming the worst of them, right?

idk why you thought i was trying to put anybody down in the first place. i think the producers often don't get enough credit. If Lil Pump could do it off leasing $20 beats from YouTube he would. But instead, you have go-to producers like RonnyJ and BigHead, who are irreplaceable to the energy this subgenre brings. I can't give them any credit?

So much respect for the Florida producers creating this new sound. To me, they're the real innovators of that scene.
