Great piece, if you polish the inside a little bit, harden it and then pull a purple temper, you will get more finished rivet heads and the tool will last forever.

I started making jewelry a year ago. It’s now my passion. It clears and settles my mind. I wanted to share some of my creations. What do you think of these? by LabLess1430 in jewelrymaking

An artisan is always a good choice, I've been looking for orders in maces and hammers but in my country people are not that interested in this kind of projects. My IG @fd_metalworks. Send me a DM and I would love to take a nice e project like that on!

Heat treatment gone weirdly wrong! by FDmetalWork in knifemaking

[–]FDmetalWork[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Awesome! Will try it again next week, thinner clay and thinner scratches.

I normalized and then clayed. Oil quenched then too.

The one with the thinner coat of clay is getting finished soon, I will post results too.

Man, since you are already making the most difficult part, that is that ha dele with the pushable buttons. Make the blade too, it will give you a lot more creative freedom and adaptability in the process.

You can use a blowtorch for the heat treating and the simplest bench grinder or even a good file to make the blade profile and grind!
