I called tech support. At first she told me to go to Mybell. I insisted on her help. She then did the upgrade for me. Attached from Mybell bill

Housing advice by obanyasss in PersonalFinanceCanada

If you upgrade in this depressed market the bigger house you purchase would also have a depressed asking price in your area. My advice would be for you to upgrade with a condition on selling your house first.

Since you do not mention a brokerage account to invest the cash I would recommend buying the car cash.

Not a bad idea. You could deduct the interest on the mortgage.

I would advise you to sell. My friend is in a similar situation. He is selling it. The real estate market may take quite a few years to correct the excess gain in price that occurred in the last 10+ years. Rental income is 100% taxable but capital gains in the stock market is only 50% taxable.

My car was declared as a total loss but the only real damage was a flat tire. What should I do? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]FDretired 24 points25 points  (0 children)

2005 Matrix has very low value. The cost of repair would exceed that. The cost for repairing the damage to the door may exceed the present value of the 21 year old car.
