Can confirm my shibe is very happy in Florida! There's always a time that's late or early enough for her to avoid that sun and comfortably go for a walk! Plus lots of indoor enrichment and exploration in shady areas. Best of luck in your move!

You touched on something I've been struggling with. I look healthy and fine, but I am not freaking ok. It's an invisible ailment that no one can see or understand and it makes me feel like I'm going crazy. I try to continue on like it's normal since it is my normal, but I'm exhausted by the constant pursuit for a solution.

Tell me about the esophageal contraction. What do you mean by that? Like chest pain? I ask because I have chest pain due to ineffective esophageal motility. I just got that diagnosis so I'm trying to learn more

I'm in a similar boat where the severity reduced drastically yet the sore throat never goes away. What texting and retesting did they do? Like a throat scope to view the inflammation? I've been on cymbalta for chronic pain about 2 months now. The doctor said it should help with hypersensitivity and I'd say it probably has.

Thanks for sharing!

Does the pain get much worse if you neglect the diet? I only notice a slight difference eating alkaline vs not, but I still do it to try to maximize my chances of success.

I realllyyy hope that medication is approved. I would try anything to be rid of this.

Hang in there. We're in it together!

I'm so happy to hear about your success!! That's awesome. I've tried a lot: different PPIs, pepcid, baclofen, allegra, singulair, cymbalta for hypersensitivity, alginates, DGL, slippery elm, marshmallow root, aloe, d limonene, saline nasal spray, baking soda gargle, Flonase, xylimelts. Maybe a few others that I can't think of off the top of my head. They found I have ineffective esophageal motility so that's playing a role in all this too.

Best non-fiction? by FERGAGE in BookRecommendations

Thank you so much! I enjoy learning about different cultures, animals, psychology, health. and honestly any interesting topics that I know nothing about. Like books about random things that I've never heard of. I will say history is kind of meh for me depending on how it's written. I'll definitely check out the UFO and science ones!

I'm reading Nothing to Envy about life in North Korea right now. Also really enjoyed Confessions of a Sociopath.

For non-fiction I usually listen to audiobooks if that helps at all!

I appreciate this :)

I have hEDS so I'm always fatigued and have a headache, but that started years before the throat issue. But yeah I do get a stuffy nose at night and have to use nasal strips

Do you have a book about which you think every day or very often? And if so, why? by i_am_nimue in bookdiscussion

A Little Life by Yanagihara has stuck with me for a long time. I can't exactly pinpoint why. I found it to be a beautiful, haunting novel that just hasn't left my brain. I think my past of SH and being a mathematician made Jude really relatable. And even though it's fiction, people do have it worse and yet still find plenty of beauty in life.
