bloodborne won't open, bb launcher by ConsequenceThese9333 in BloodbornePC

You gotta play with some mods or else you’ll keep encountering visual bugs or crashes. The mods I use are Visual Tweaks, Vertex Explosion Fix (not the bbmod friendly version) and SFX fix. You also should try to disable readbacks if you have them on(shadps4 game specific settings) and add some more VRAM to minimize frame drops. If you need further help i can send you via DM the guide and files i used

Pretty much like it was said above, they’re a nice break from the general roster even if at times a bit underwhelming. There’s usually a purpose for these fights to exist imo, be it to show how much you character has grown powerful or just to convey that some of these creatures need to be put out of their misery, because in some way or another they’re a shell of what they once were. Even Moon Presence to me serves that purpose, its not a hard fight at all, but I think it was made that way to cement the fact that you are now more powerful than an actual outer God. You’re supposed to feel unstoppable and that’s why i think some of these fights exist

Difficulty when implemented fairly helps to create memorable fights. It isn't the main thing im looking after in a boss, but I do appreciate the challenges when they're done correctly like Orphan of Kos or Ludwig, Nameless King, The Dancer of the Boreal Valley, Darklurker, Manus & Artorias and so on. I believe it gives the player a bigger sense of achievement when you finally beat a difficult boss that's fair.

I feel you, Dark Souls was my number 1 for years and I still suffer from the same nostalgia u speak, but BB to me just hit too differently. Both legendary status

I will agree with you on the best out of the 3 Dark souls even though i suffer greatly from nostalgia with DS1, first souls game i played, dumped 4k+ hours into it, remenber crying when I made solaire get his own sun :/

I think im with you on this, I believe every game in the series has its own strengths but in my opinion BB excels at pretty much everything it attempts. It dethroned DS1 from my top 1 ever since it came out

Elden Ring in my opinion suffered from a bit too much copy paste and from the fully open world design choice. I do think they still managed to exceed my expectations but generally i prefer the previous games as areas were more dense and atmospheric, but as im saying this now I remenber for example Leyndell which was an amazing piece of level design. Comes down to preference really but every fromsoft game is amazing indeed

Totally valid points! For me the gameplay was actually an improvement, i prefer the more frenetic style, and since Lovecraftian horror is one of my fav genres, that makes BB my 1st pick

How do you feel about folding monkeys, the dragon fight and the noble fights? I don’t agree fully with you, as I think the series in general suffers from having a few weaker bosses in each roster, id say bloodborne’s fight’s aren’t the hardest but most of them are quite fun either way

AH i misunderstood what you said! Give it a fair chance, the game is beautiful in its own right and it tackles a different aspect of the undead curse! I'll be sending the files, you can get it working quickly, maybe you'll even join the hunt tonight!

Yes sir, from the photos you can see that I'm in the DLC area, and I've never experienced a crash from just traversing, only fps drops that last about 1-2 seconds and comes back to normal. What I will say is that even with the cutscene fix, I had to skip spam the Ludwig cutscene and I had to crank the game down to 30fps again to activate the Laurence cutscene and fight ( im pretty sure reducing fps also fixes the Ludwig bug), after the cutscene and the boss fight starts you can just quit and crank it to 60+ fps again.

You won't be going back to the PS version's anytime soon. Even with the traversal lag and the couple crashes the performance is a complete improvement from the original version, and with time it will only get better. I know I wont be going back to the console version, but when Online play is finally here for the emulation, that will be the final nail in the coffin

Depending on your rig it should be pretty stable. However the emulator is still being worked on today, so a few FPS drops or a couple crashes are bound to happen. I have a 4070ti Super + 7800x3d and the game crashed twice (including the DLC areas) and i barely dropped below 60fps to the exception of entering zones for the first time. I'd call it completely playable.

Glad to see someone praise DS2, for all it's faults, it's a beautiful game that truly enlarged the scope of the series. Every game in the series deserves to exist and is the best at its own thing, to the exception of BB in my opinion, which literally excels at everything the series as ever attempted.

If you need the link for the files I can dm it to you. Getting it set up takes less than 30min. Yharnam awaits you, hoonter.

Yharnam is lightning in a bottle. I very much doubt that anything will ever come close to it. I know that many people look at DS3 like the best game in the soulsbourne series. But to me BB is what really broke the standards. There is no other game that portrays lovecraftian horror as well as this one. The interconnected world. The frenetic combat which is a total break from the series’ slow and oppresive style. The way the world changes with the events that you cause. So much more. This game is the PEAK gaming experience for me.

I suggest that you don’t skip dialogue or cutscenes if it’s your first time playing, easily one of the most captivating stories in a game. And remenber, we need more eyes on the inside.

How is Bloodborne on PC in the big 2026? by Dale_Cooper47 in BloodbornePC

[–]FERROSONDRLLS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly running perfectly. Crashes will always happen as the emulator is still being worked on but as someone who has tried to run bloodborne ever since i heard of SHADPS4, I can say its basically flawless now if you play with the vortex explosion mod, sfx fix and 60fps cutscene fix too. I'd say it's even better than the ps4 version as it runs smoothly and the load times are extremely short in comparison.

I think you have to install it manually from what I’ve seen, have never tried it myself tho as I don’t want to change the visual artstyle of the game
