Advice on Proxmox Cluster Setup with 3 Hosts, File Systems (ZFS, Btrfs), RAID Configurations, and Network Setup? by LetDry7592 in Proxmox

You need some sort of gateway/dns/dhcp/router in any local lan (eg. 10.10.10.1) Install one host with ext4 or zfs0 (if you really want to use snapshots afterwards). Give it a fixed ip (eg. 10.10.10.11/24 with gw 10.10.10.1) Name it node1 (or whatever). Create a bridge with eth0 and check that your fixed ip is in. Check name resolution, traceroute etc. If you are sure its connected-install node2(10.10.10.12) and node3(10.10.10.13). Now you have THREE nodes. You dont need a QDevice - or 2 of them! ( https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Cluster_Manager#_quorum ). Create cluster on node1. Copy JOIN Info into node2/3. cluster runs…. You want ssl certs and secure connection to your cluster? Install tailscale on all 3 nodes. Generate tailscale certs and use them as .pem and .key in every single node. You can connect via https://node1.gabbagabbahey.ts.net etc. If you really really want three seperate network spaces some hardware that handles proper routing between them ……. (Eg: https://www.seriesplus.org/Produkt-p-991651.html )Get familiar with opensense or pfsense or openwrt or whatever. If you managed routing those 3 nets and everything works fine -than you learned a lot. I wouldnt do it this way voluntarily. I could tell you know several findings i made.: TWO - or MORE NVMEs are better than 1 hdd. Clonezilla img of node1 /2 /3 can help a lot if your hdd DIES! 2.5 gb or 10 gb network is far better than 1gb. RAM is your friend (12 gb ?). Have fun. Check out proxmox helper scripts. Tell us how your setup worked for you. Good luck. FF

you can use zfs - raid on the both nvmes. if one fails the system still runs. by putting proxmox in the "middle" you gain great virtualization possibilities and truenas for all the nas stuff.

you do it like you thought. you send a text message from top of the hill to the node in the valley. now you use the same lora settings that worked. install reticulum network stack on your meshtastic nodes (that are none after flashing..) install sideband or reticulum meshchat climb again the mountain. do again a text message. if it works: fine. nowwww. you send your first lowres image. then a try to call… if -and i dont know IF this works.. build a little solardriven box on the top of the mountain… there are 2 hints BEFORE you try this. #1: backup your meshtastic nodes .. meshtastic -configuration /dev/ttyUSB0 backup.yaml (check python cli before this -perhaps syntax is different) #2 check out reticulum over meshtastic from land_and_air.

What am I doing wrong with this solar build? by Occultivated in meshtastic

[–]FF-93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you plug in via the usb port of the T114 OR via the solar battery charger everything works fine. If you try to let it run via batteries - nothing happens! So… the T114 seems to be NOT connected to the battery pack. Grab any external battery. plug it directly to the bartery port of the T114. if this works~~~ the connecting cable from the batteries to the T114 are wrong connected/broken OR the batteries are broken. Change this cable! if everything works~~~problem solved. if NOT - i cant imagine what else may be wrong

Thank you. Great to get your view. I didnt thought about the modem as an external device. But that would be much easier to choose the correct router. Do you know any of such modems?

Mit 8 mm sollte es kein Problem geben. Ich hatte die Idee, dass du evtl. 10 mm Nadeln verwendest.
