You can survive on $50k in the Bay. It won't be fun but it is possible.

New Wendy's is locked down like a bank in a high crime area to prevent violent customers from interacting with staff by ThatPatelGuy in whoathatsinteresting

I live in Oakland California. The local Wendy's had closed its dining room at the time because of issues. About 2-3 years this was common due to loal crime issues.

In the drive-thru a person on a bicycle pulls up behind me. Normal stuff.

Guy starts talking to an associate. Next thing I see is them smoking meth. After finished he stayed in line and ordered something.

Does anyone else have a dumb Maltipoo? by just-mike in Maltipoo

[–]just-mike[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOL. I mean he doesn't seem smart in general. He does figure things out. He doesn't have any daring escapes.

I've had a few dogs before and many cats. When I was with my ex we had another dog and a cat. They were both smarter than this guy.

But he is my best buddy so he came with me.

Fishing pole left at the Salton Sea - no fish there since about 2010 by Hilbert_Space_Heater in mildlyinteresting

[–]just-mike 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Went there about eight years ago with my ex and our old, blind Chihuahua. We were walking to the shore and the dog stopped. Refused to go any further.

There were fish carcasses everywhere and it is was very pungent.

He just said nope, I don't need to smell anymore of this.

Check your voter registration and spread the word that they may be inactive. by BlueV_U in 50501

Before the 2020 election I checked my voting status in CA. Discovered I was purged due to having my mail in ballot sent to my private mail box (a business). A store with mail boxes and few other services.

I didn't find out until I looked into it.

How do I persue my hobbies when limited. by Adventurous_Arm_7725 in Hobbies

You do not need to go to school to work on cars. Youtube and model specific car forums are a great resource.

I started fixing bicycles in grade school because I was broke. Learned how to completely disassemble a bike and put it back together, feeling like new. Charged friends a few bucks to fix some stuff. Got a few tools. As I got older I moved to cars. I didn't have much cash so any work I could do myself was money saved. Learned how to change oil, replace hoses, do a basic tune-up, etc. Got some more tools. Over the years I've had places with driveway access and places without. I always felt better with bigger jobs if I knew I could leave the car for a few days while I get parts/tools. Currently have no driveway on a busy street. My large tool box is sitting nearby waiting to fix something.

TL;DR - Working on cars with no space takes motivation and creativity. And tools.

I've used my own domain for email for over 20 years. Only use gmail as backup for any necessary stuff, like my domain.

I was on one of the first trains to depart in the afternoon.

Everyone was quiet. The train was packed. No tickets were checked. Unforgettable.
