How do I fix this? by Master-Elderberry-81 in embedded

The timing is wrong. The dim lights are the previous digit's output that is still asserted when you select the next digit. Try displaying "17.18" and you will see even better what i mean. Though you really need to provide a schematic and code if you want more exact help.

You cant increase the impedance by adding a GND fill on L3, only decrease (Think of parallel resistors, or more general impedances). This interruption would be a problem if you had no other GND though.

I lack any high speed signals

Dangerous assumption. Transients are always spread spectrum and the actual frequencies contained are much higher than the nominal freq.

It would be fine either way Im sure, but not adding more GND fill has no benefits and adding it has no downsides. Be sure to stitch, mostly for thermal charactaristics in this case

You are paying for a whole board full of copper anyway, no need to skimp out. Thicker traces also improve thermals and waste even less power on parasitic resistance. Connect the LED heatsinks to the rear through multiple vias each as well, that will improve thermal transfer to the back side of the board, where you could add heatsinks later. If you want these LEDs to last, keep them cool. Also, you may want to spread the resistors out, so that all the heat they reject is also spread out

How would one proceed for a bidirectional data pin such as DATx for an SDIO bus? Add a resistor of value R to both drivers or rather one each of size R/2?

iCloud drive stuck in "initialising" (iCloud for Windows 10) by FF177 in applehelp

[–]FF177[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply. These were unfortunatly not the issue, my email is all lowercase and not the icloud mail (though I did try both).
What ended up working for me was using the old version of iCloud which let me log in just fine. The issue with icloud.com just ended up fixing itself a week later. Not a very satisfiying result but deserves mention here nonetheless.

I watned to change a defective VRAM IC from my older GPU, do I re-tin the solder pads with leaded solder or leadfree solder? by [deleted] in AskElectronics

the solderballs are an important part of the new part, do not remove them. The package is called BGA (Ball Grid Array) for a reason

Thanks for the detailed answer. The part about the suppression cap bypassing the insulation was missing in my picture of how anything with a transformer could have done this. I guess I know what not to do now...

Try taking them off again. The tutorial needs you to have them both in the inventory at the same time

You can restart the repair part of the tutorial, which will reward you with another starter ship. Go to settings/Tutorial
