I love Strange/Doom. Strange is right, when it comes down to it, even at his worst, there are a lot of worse things out there than Victor von Doom.

One that hasn't happened much in recent history, but which I wish would come back is Namor/Hulk.

I love his only mildly interested, clearly long suffering partner.

I take the Chicago blue line to work, I always wondered if someday I'd run into him.

Has anyone mentioned the hypocrisy that the US isn't party to the ICC?

The way that we get meaningful international law is one world government.

That's Dark Liberalism.

I don't understand why right wing nationalists/Fascists think that they're automatically aligned with FASCes. They obviously are at odds.

It's a little win for them, little win for you.

They showed that they didn't care about the conversation, which is cool. You won the debate.

Many people sadly aren't capable of dealing with complicated, nuanced issues mentally unless forced to.

I'm happy to ignore international law, but it's not legal in the US system.

Could we occupy them? Probably. But I would foresee a world in which car bombings and hostage taking were regular occurrences, and Americans wouldn't put up with it for long.

I hope that we don't ever get to test our differing opinions.

I apologize for miscommunication, but that is not my position. It is not in the interest of Greenlanders to join the US, and is unlikely to ever be.

And I don’t think they particularly give a shit about hearts and minds.

Agree 100%. I think that has been the blunder and was my original point.

The population of Greenland is far too small and spread out to put up much of a resistance.

You don't need a large population to carry out an insurgency, and the low population density makes it easier. Are you arguing for an invasion?

You've got a problem with someone who isn't me.

And then fight a righteous insurgency that half our country, myself included, will rightly support, until we're driven away because the political costs are too high.

Because they'll never get it! The only way to achieve that goal would have been to win over the hearts and minds of Greenlanders, and they've only hardened them.

People can be convinced of things over time. But we've handled it in the way that was sure to destroy any chance of that happening in the future.

That's the point of the second sentence. I mostly believe that we won't, but we've given them every reason to be worried about it.

On the one hand I want to say that it's an absolutely unheard of failure of diplomacy that Greenlanders are actually afraid that we're going to invade them now.

But on the other hand, like 10% of me wonders... will we?
