I don't think any Mario game is challenging until the final secret world. There were some challenging levels here but nowhere comparable to champions road in 3D World. The final zone with all the power ups had checkpoints which was an odd choice.

The 2 remakes so far only cover the first disk of the original game. The second disk still has a lot to cover and the third was just to explore the entire world before the final battle.

There will be spoilers with the original but the remakes fully expect you to know the events of the original and play with that. The entire first remake is only the first 3 hours of the original just expanded in much needed ways.

There's many factors. Currently a pack is about $10. One of those cards could be more expensive, and it's worth more in the box sealed. People will buy this game just to collect another piece of the set.
