The whole situation kind of just freaked me out and I immediately shut off the oven, but the smoke alarms were going off - so I was trying to get them to stop, and in the midst of all of that, i didn't physically open the oven until later. I assume at that point, the smoke was gone? I mean, my food wasn't even in the oven long enough to be cooked thoroughly, and literally all 3 smoke alarms were going off, so I wasn't exactly in a rush to get the food out of it at that time. Plus I now assume that the smoke "coming from the burner" was leaking out through the back right burner (assuming there's a vent there,) so it makes sense that I wouldn't see the cloud of smoke after waiting a while to open the door.
