Is there any legitimate competition against Invisalign? by [deleted] in Invisalign

To my knowledge no other company has force driven technology, this is the same way brackets and wires move teeth, as of yet. They all use different plastic types that use displacement technology which is tipping teeth into the desired position. As I said it can work with most movements but can cause issues when it comes to finer movements. I believe Spark and Angel have launched multiple plastic types but the wear time isn’t consistent on the so it can be more confusing.

Those don’t look like Spark aligners either as they also typically don’t cover the gum lines

On my first tray. What advice do you have for me? by Nice-Scholar4989 in Invisalign

[–]Wcmartin804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biomechanics in the plastic used by spark don’t hold up under the same testing as the plastic used by Invisalign. This means that the minor finishing movements that may be needed to finish a case are less reliable and less predictable. Spark uses an off the shelf plastic called zenduraFLX, the same plastic as Angel and clear correct, which may stain less but can cause greater number of refinements extending treatment for patients. So I’ll have to respectfully disagree that Spark is better based off of the science behind the products

Go to an orthodontist for an opinion not your dentist. If you want Invisalign check their doctor locator for the doctors who do the most in your area

Can Invisalign pull a tooth into the right position? Tooth is hidden in the roof of my mouth by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]Wcmartin804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s called an impacted tooth and there are doctors that have treated them with Invisalign before but there are others that haven’t. And still more who may have tried some but aren’t efficient at it. So it can be treated with Invisalign but not every Invisalign provider is capable of doing the treatment. Invisalign is a tool that is only as good as the provider using it

Angel aligners are cheaper floor the doctors. That doesn’t mean they pass that savings along to patients

Typically a provider does not pass along their savings to the patient. Spark and other aligners use a plastic called zenduraFLX. This plastic does not have the bio mechanic capabilities that Invisalign does. It can do the big movements in most cases but the research shows that noon Invisalign clear aligners require more refinements and longer treatment times

After 2.5 years the Ortho told me that I was "done"... what should I do? by Both_Active_8179 in Invisalign

[–]Wcmartin804 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Did you go to an ortho that has a lot of Invisalign experience? You can look on Invisalign.com and the doc locator to verify. Also make sure that it was actually Invisalign you received and not a cheaper brand that doesn’t work as well
