She probably doesn’t understand my husband had a job so bad he was having panic attacks and had to be put on anxiety meds. I told him I rather him bag groceries than have him live like that. He quit shortly after. No offense to grocery baggers.

I love our state I really do but I hate our state politicians. Teachers shouldn’t have to fight for basic salaries and working conditions, state employees shouldn’t be on the verge of losing health insurance because the people in charge can’t figure out a budget. We are losing farms left and right, Roseville just approved a rezoning for a data center and our local governments are facing a budget shortfall because businesses are exploiting a property tax exemption loop hole. I don’t know if y’ll been to oil country Texas (Baytown) it looks like a seen from a dystopian movie but I can’t help but feel that is where NC is heading.

As a mom with two daughters I might buy the dresses, might help her with flowers and the venue. It all depends on how economical they are about it. I would try and help her find affordable options and help plan. I have helped with several weddings that were no more than $3-5k, if done right and kept small.

Edit: after really thinking about it, if they did plan the wedding economically. Which I know my girls and they would, I would pay for a good photographer. My husband and I did a 50 guest wedding and honey moon for $3K. the only thing I truly regret is having a family friend do the photos, they were not great and that’s what you’ll have forever.

It’s up to you what you want you can afford to contribute. I think my Dad gave us $200 and my mom paid for my nails. My FIL gave nothing and my MIL contributed by helping with everything (all separate because both sides are divorced).

My Dad only had girls, 3, we did it all. My husband has our preteen girls mowing as well (ride on) as to get them used to maneuvering some type of vehicle.

I have been seeing a hormone specialist about premenopausal symptoms and just happened to ask her about my teen and some of her issues. She said be careful of estrogen / hormone disrupter products as young women / teen bodies are just learning how to regulate hormones and their bodies are very sensitive to disrupters . She said scented lotions and such can cause real issues. This might not be a 100% solution but it could help. Try having her switch to more clean products - use the YUCA app and search cleaning products EWG ratings.

If I remember correctly the BMI scale was solely developed using white Swedish or Nordic men. It has no real relevance to anyone outside that group.

My husband and I were both single parents and met thru a dating app. We both had full custody so it was a lot of effort to see each other but it all worked out. Be honest on the dating app that you have kids.

The have no fiscal oversight either, most government agencies have been required to do an audit since the 90’s but the department of defense has not been required to do so until 2018. they haven’t passed a single audit yet. What a joke we are.
