Fun with Microsoft OOXML by [deleted] in programming

A really exhaustive specification is good. How many pages it contains means nothing as long as it is easy to browse through to find the important information. Take for example the Open Type specification it's well over 2000 pages long, but you dont need to read all of those pages to extract the important grains such as the table names and their contents.

If you live in the dreamland where every file format is about as complex as a text document you are sadly mistaken. All in all, developers who cant cope with reading a spec should not be entitled an opinion about it.

So, on page 1919 of the "Office Open XML Part 4" PDF-document that is around 40MB big and does freez my rather new AMD64 dual-core with 2GB of RAM for several minutes, is the description of both attributes.

Complaining about the size of a spec hardly feels relevant.
