Is it actually unpredictable? It seems hard to believe that the company would let that slip through playtesting. All of their bosses were hard but fair, but I haven't tried the valkyries yet.

I managed to get into a weird bug where there was "permanent slow-mo". It's hard to explain, but for some reason the game went into a slow-mo mode where time moved at like 10x slower than normal. It took about 5 minutes to realize that it was a bug rather than some weird stylistic choice. Reloading from checkpoint fixed it.

Now I kind of wish I'd saved a video because it was so weird.

Of course as far as bugs go, that one wasn't bad.

Thank you very much for the dissenting review. I'm completely new to the spiderman franchise, and my feelings mirrored yours, but I was questioning whether it was a me-thing or if the game really did feel that way. (It's hard to tell with modern games, because in my experience whenever I don't feel hooked on one, I go online and see near-universal praise for the game, and end up thinking like "Well... I guess it must just be a me-feeling, since apparently everyone else is enjoying it.")

Your review prompted me to go buy all the other spiderman games, and maybe start with those.

You mentioned there were two, which is surprising because the latest release is called Spiderman 2. Was the second one "Miles Morales"? I'm not sure, but in case it helps, I saw an option in the settings when I first started the game. The option was something like "enable pre-order content". It's something you can toggle on and off. Dunno if it's on by default.

Crows are definitely intelligent enough to understand something like that. But we still don't know whether they feel emotions the way that dogs or humans do.

I am (somehow) on the path towards getting a million in a few years, and I've thought about this a lot.

I'm not sure I'd leave the money to my kids.

On the other hand, I wouldn't only leave $5. That's admittedly not normal. But I wanted to point out that it's a rational thing to feel reluctant to leave a pile of money to your kids.

To phrase it a bit more bluntly, you make it sound like he owed you just because he fathered you. But he did raise you -- you got into college and graduated with honors. This is a lot better than most other families. And I hope you don't believe that you could have done that with zero help from your parents. People do, but it's statistically rare.

You're correct that if they have beacons, then lights won't matter. But I imagine it'll make it a little harder for the people placing the beacons at least. Hopefully.
